It has always been my dream to be involved in a foreign language exchange, so I was exhilarated

when I found out I was going to live with a family in the USA for six months.

I was so anxious to meet the family I am living with, but I should have not been. They are extremely
kind, and do everything they can to make me feel comfortable. It is a small family, with the mother
and the father and their two children. The older girl is around my age, and we hit it off right away.
We hang out a lot, and she was the one who introduced me to plenty of local customs.

I think my favourite local customs are the festivals they hold in the summer. Since I have been here I
had the opportunity to visit a flower festival, and to say the least I was amazed. There were incredibly
talented flower statues and other creations. At the festival I also made some new friends which was
great too.

Overall, I can say that I am grateful for this experience, and it made me decide that I would like to live
abroad in the future.
