6 | G20 CONTRIBUTION TO THE 2030 AGENDA

Introduction This report is a first attempt to take stock of and, where

possible, to measure the G20 contributions to efforts towards
implementing the SDGs since the adoption of the G20’s Action
Plan on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Based
on this analysis and evidence to date, the G20 has played, and
will continue to play, an important and unique role in progress
towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. To
date, key achievements include: concrete measures (including
targets) to drive sustainable growth and enhance global stability;
co-operation on tax transparency, resulting in the identification of
USD 95 billion in additional revenue since 2009; lowering the cost
of remittances, projected to generate at least USD 25 billion per
year by 2030; increasing female participation in the workforce and
reducing the gender gap by 25% by 2025; promoting dialogue
and driving consensus on trade and investment issues; enhancing
food security through a host of concrete initiatives, including
the establishment of the Agricultural Market Information System
(AMIS) aimed at improving food market transparency and
encourage international policy co-ordination in times of crisis.

Actions mandated by the G20 in support of the global goals

have increased in quantitative terms since the adoption of
the G20’s 2030 Action Plan.
