INTRODUCTION
• WHAT IS G-20?
The G20 or Group of Twenty is an intergovernmental forum comprising
19 countries and the European Union. It works to address major issues
related to the global economy, such as international financial
stability, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development.
The G20 comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, EU,
France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi
Arabia, South Africa, South Korea,Turkey, UK and USA. The G20
Countries together represent around 90% of global
GDP, 80% of global trade, and two thirds of the world’s population.
• OBJECTIVES OF G-20
• Women-led development
India hopes to use the G20 forum to highlight inclusive growth and
development, with women empowerment and representation being
at the core of India’s G20 deliberations. This includes a focus on
bringing women to the fore, and in leading positions, in order to
boost socio-economic development and achievement of SDGs.
