HOME LEARNING

The book provided can be used for letter and number formation. Drawing daily and writing a
caption, maths, phonics and making a diary.

Opportunities to practise recognising sounds and words as
well. Make a list of animal sound they know and other

WRITING We have been looking the story of ‘The Little Red Hen.’
This week we are baking bread and ordering pictures of
making the bread.
Bake something with your child and take pictures.

READING Daily reading for 10 minutes.


Read familiar books again so children become fluent and
confident.
Making their own books to read.
Build a reading den and snuggle up cosy and read your
favourite books.
Can you create a story bag?
Find a bag and collect items to go in it that relate to a
well-known story.
If you can’t find an item, you could draw a picture to
include.
UNDERSTANDING OF THE In both our key texts this half term our stories contain

Bake something with your child and take photos.

DESIGN

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT  Keep moving – dance to your favourite music.


 Design an obstacle course in your back garden and
time how fast you are at completing it.
 Plan activities where children can practise moving in
different ways and at different speeds, balancing,
target throwing, rolling, kicking and catching.

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL  Do something kind for someone every day.


DEVELOPMENT  Make a list of how you can show pride.
 Play together with your family.
 Provide regular opportunities for children to talk to
about something they are interested in or have
done.
 Involve children in drawing or taking photographs of
favourite activities or places, to help them describe
their individual preferences and opinions.
