factories. Berkshire Hathaway Inc. is a multinational corporation (MNC) that is registered
and operates in more than one country at a time. Berkshire Hathaway is a holding company
with subsidiaries involved in a wide range of businesses. Berkshire Hathaway serves as an
investment vehicle for Warren Buffett. Berkshire Hathaway is headquartered in Omaha,
Nebraska, with its corporate offices in Delaware.

Berkshire Hathaway's core business is insurance, including property and casualty


insurance, reinsurance and specialty nonstandard insurance. Buffett developed Berkshire
Hathaway by buying stock in undervalued firms, acquiring many of undervalued firm, and
then giving the subsidiaries' managers significant autonomy. Insurance firms were a big
element of Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio from the beginning of his leadership. Besides that,
Berkshire Hathaway owns and operates a number of other companies involved in
manufacturing, services, retailing, and other industries. Berkshire also holds a large portfolio
of equity securities and derivatives, which heavily impact the company's reported financial
performance. Berkshire has over 50 domestic and international insurance firms through
which it performs insurance and reinsurance operations. Berkshire Hathaway's insurance
companies specialise in property and liability insurance and reinsurance, especially in the
United States. Berkshire's insurance divisions now include life, accident, and health
reinsurers, as well as worldwide property and casualty reinsurers.

decentralised manner. Few corporate functions are centralised or integrated. Berkshire's
corporate senior management team is involved in major capital allocation decisions,
investment activities, and the selection of the Chief Executive Officer for each of the
operational businesses. Berkshire's top management is also in charge of creating and
monitoring the company's corporate governance processes, which includes overseeing
governance activities, including those at operational businesses, and engaging in the
