ACTIVITY: APPLYING THE CODE OF ETHICS IN CLASSROOM SCENARIOS

Read the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers in the Philippines, and analyze the
significance in the teaching profession. Below are several classroom scenarios that relate to
the different points of the code. Please answer it briefly and think about how you would
apply the Code of Ethics.

 A student confides in you about a personal problem they're facing. How do you
ensure that you maintain their confidentiality while also providing them with the
support they need?
 You notice that a group of students in your class are consistently performing poorly,
and you suspect that it may be due to a learning disability or other special need. How
do you approach this situation in a way that respects the dignity and rights of these
students?
 You have a student who frequently disrupts the class and is disrespectful to their
peers. How do you address this behavior in a way that upholds the highest standards
of personal and professional conduct?

By engaging in this activity, you can practice applying the Code of Ethics for Professional
Teachers in real-world situations and reflect on how you can uphold ethical standards in your
own teaching practice.
