and other mind games to name a few. Being inclined to these leisure and recreational activities can bring us

2. Personality enhancement, expressions, creativity, individuality social, physical and intellectual.
3. Building close family ties or relationships.

SCRABBLE
This is a two to four mind battle game using a square game board imprinted with a 15 x 15 grid of cells (individually
known as "squares"), each will accommodate a single letter tile. In an official club and tournament games, usually, it
is a battle between two players or two teams, each of which collaborates on a single rack. The board was marked
with corresponding "premium" squares which will be multiplied to the designated number of points awarded: eight
dark red "triple-word" squares, 17 pale red "double-word" squares, of which one, the center square H8, is marked
with a star or other symbol, 12 dark blue "triple-letter" squares, and 24 pale blue "double-letter" squares. But there
was a change way back year 2008 when Hasbro changed the premium square colors to orange for TW, red for DW,
blue for DL, and green for TL, but for the tournament, the original color scheme was still used for Scrabble boards.
Scrabble is a fantastic game that is loved by many of all ages. But above all, this game brings a lot of beneficial

CHESS
One of the oldest and popularly known board games is Chess. It is played by two opponents using a checkered
board with distinctively designed pieces on contrasting colors which oftentimes are black and white. As the rule of
the game, white does the move first. The players alternately taking their turns as abided by the concrete rules of the
game, both of them taking their opponent to forcefully move the principal piece which is the king into a no way-out
situation or checkmate.
How the Chess Pieces Move
a. King
- Kings move one square in any direction, as long as there’s no threat by an enemy piece.
- Castling- kings special move.
- The most important piece in the game.
- One of the weakest chess piece
b. Queen
- Queens move diagonally, horizontally, or vertically in any number of squares.
- They cannot jump over pieces.
- The most powerful chess piece.
c. Rooks
- Rooks move horizontally or vertically in any number of squares.
- They are unable to jump over pieces.
- Rooks move when the king castles
d. Bishops
- Bishops move diagonally at any number of squares in a designated color.
- They cannot jump over pieces.
e. Knight
- Knights move in an ‘L’ shape’: two squares in a horizontal or vertical direction, then move one square
horizontally or vertically.
- They are the only piece that can jump over other pieces.
f. Pawns
- Pawns move vertically forward one square, with the option to move two squares if they have not yet
moved.
- Pawns are the only piece to capture different piece depending to how they move.
- Pawns capture one square diagonally in a forward direction

DOMINO
The game domino consists of small tiles where each represent the role of two dice. These tiles are called bone and
is rectangular in shape with a line in its central part. Each side of the tile consists dots representing the number. In
most popular domino set which is the double-six, the numbers vary from 0 (blank) to 6. This creates distinctively 28
unique tiles which has the common size of 2 inches in length, 1 inch width a d 3/8 inches thickness. This tile is just
small enough to be held comfortably by someone's hand yet too large to get manipulated easily. The thickness is
also just enough to make it stand. Dominoes are referred to by the dots (or pips) on each tile end, with the lower
number usually listed first. Like for instance a tile having 3 dots on one end and 6 on the other end is referred to as
"3-6", while a tile with the same dot numbers on both ends is called "double" or "doublet" or it could be called as "6-
6" for example of double six. There is this one known to be the heaviest domino which is the double-six while
double-blank is the one considered to be the lightest domino value.

How to Play Dominoes

1. Shuffling the Dominos- Before you start a game, the dominoes must be shuffled to make a boneyard. You
need to shuffle the tiles all face down moving them in random motion. Make sure that no one knows the
location of any given tile.
2. Decide who will make the first move - You can do it in two ways: a. Each of the players chooses a domino
at random, with first move going to the player holding the "heavier" domino (these dominoes are returned to
the boneyard and reshuffled), or b. The players draw their allotted number of tiles (which varies according to
the game being played), and the holder of the "heaviest" domino goes first.
3. Drawing tiles- Once you begin drawing tiles, they are typically placed on-edge so that you and your
opponent can see your own tiles, but none can see the value of other players’ tiles. Every player can thus
see how many tiles remain in the other players’ hands at all times during the game
4. Placing the first tile- After you and your opponent have drawn dominoes, the first player places the first tile,
usually a double-six, on the table. If no one holds the double-six, then the double-five is played, and so on.
5. Playing subsequent tiles- You can only put domino tiles to “open ends”, i.e., no other tile is connected to it.
A double tile is usually placed cross-ways in the layout, straddling the end of the tile that it is connected to.
All four sides of a double are open allowing dominoes to be connected in all four directions.
6. Drawing a tile from the boneyard ("draw" games) or you must "pass" if you cannot make a move
("block" games)- As you take turns placing tiles with your opponent, if someone cannot make a move, you
can do either two things. In "block" games (or if there are no tiles left in the boneyard), you must "pass" if you
cannot make a move. In a "draw" game, you can draw a tile from the boneyard. Depending on the game, you
can then either play it (if it fits, and if the rules allow), pass (if he cannot play the drawn tile), or continue
drawing until you can make a move or the boneyard is empty. Currently, most rules allow the boneyard to be
emptied completely. However, some rules do not allow the last two tiles in the boneyard to be removed, and
at the end of a game, the winner receives the value of the tiles in the boneyard.
7. Ending the game- The game ends when you have played all your tiles, or when a game is blocked. When
you play your last tile, tradition requires you to say "domino"! (when this happens, the other players are said
to have been domino. A game is blocked when no player can add another tile to the layout.
