Module 6: Learning Task 3

Sugaton, Philip F.
Sugaton, Peter F.

 State the hypotheses and identify the claim.

Null Hypothesis: There is no significance difference between on the average trips of

single drivers and married drivers.

H0: μ1= μ2

Alternative Hypothesis: The single drivers do more driving for pleasure trips on average
than married drivers.

H1: μ1>μ2

 State the alpha level and find the P-value.

Alpha: 0.05 (5%)

 Make the decision to reject or not reject the null hypothesis.
- We do not reject the null hypothesis.
 Summarize the results.
- There is no significance difference between on the average trips of single drivers and
married drivers.

 State the hypotheses and identify the claim.

Null Hypothesis: There is no significance difference that attending the seminar increase
the number of hours the students studied per week.

H0: μ= 0

Alternative Hypothesis: There is a significance difference that attending the seminar

increase the number of hours the students studied per week.

H1: μ<0
 State the alpha level and find the P-value.

Alpha: 0.10 (10%)

 Make the decision to reject or not reject the null hypothesis.

- We reject the null hypothesis.
 Summarize the results.
- There is enough evidence to support the alternative hypothesis that seminar increased
the number of hours the students studied per week.
