Changing the unit to tomo

! Remove the head rest and move the head rest
support rearward (toward the patient).

! Swap tomo bite positioner for chin rest.
! Change primary collimator from pan to tomo.
! Swap secondary aperture plates.
! Select P11 or P12 on hand control.
! Install the gridded tomo cassette.
! On OC-100, move soft tissue filter to 60. Left Right

! Move cassette carriage to the appropriate side

of the unit.
Top of Tray

Preparing the bite tray

! Apply material to top and bottom; fill edentulous voids.
! Place in patient's mouth with flat side up.
Mandible
Marking the tray
! Mark the impression tray with the cross sectional cuts at 90° to
the underlying bone. Be sure to take into account that in the
posterior mandible, the teeth or ridge diverge a great deal from
the body of the mandible.
! Mark the longitudinal cuts over the center of the underlying Maxilla
bone. In the anterior maxilla this mark may be quite palatal,
and in the posterior mandible it will be more buccal.

Installing the tray in the unit and aligning the lasers

! Install the tray for maxillary imaging on the bottom set of pins. The tray should be level.
! Install the tray for the posterior mandible on the top set of pins. It should tip down 8°. In
the anterior mandible, rotate the fixture 180° and mount the tray level on the top set of pins.
! Release the locking lever and rotate the tray for the lasers to be perpendicular.
! Press the occlusion adjustment keys to move the side laser onto one of the marks.
! Turn the green knobs to align the remaining mark.

Positioning the patient and taking the film

! Adjust height of unit and have the patient bite into their previous impression.
! Step to a safe distance and expose the film.
