Netflix: Brand Overview

Reliable services get constant recognition and loyalty. Netflix is chosen by billions of

users day after day for its quality. With 25 years of experience, it has evolved into the top video

streaming service in the world. Reed Hastings and March Randolph founded a “media-streaming

and video-rental company” that later started offering an online subscription service in 1999

(Hosch, 2022). Headquartered in Los Gatos, California, the company “generated $24.9 billion

revenue in 2021, a 23.8% increase year-on-year” (Iqbal, 2022). The publicly traded business

offers tv shows and movies that play anywhere with an online internet connection. By

contracting their subscription, users have access to media with no ads and what is also known as

their Netflix Originals. It is worth noting that it “consumes more than 15 percent of the world's

internet bandwidth and has subscribers in more than 190 countries” (Kariuki, 2022). With an

employee count of  “over 11,300 as of December 31, 2021” the company continues to strive for

success (Clark, 2022). Social media is a portion of the company's success, by implementing

techniques such as social listening they have built customer engagement. Netflix uses this to “get

valuable insight into the evolving behaviors of their target audience in real-time” (Bhargava,

2022). Netflix continues to excel in the video streaming industry and is a considerable example

of quality premium services.
