LEAVE POLICY

ISSUE N0-1 EFFECTIVE DATE: 01-January-2021


TITLE: LEAVE ENTITLEMENT

I. GENERAL
1.These rules shall apply to all employees of Best Agro group who are in the regular
services of the company.
2.The company/management reserves the rights to modify, cancel or amend any of
these rules without any prior notice and give effect to them as deemed necessary, in
the business interest.
3.In regard to interpretation of these rules, decision of the Management will be final.

II. ENTITLEMENT OF LEAVE


Casual Leave (CL):
1. Eligibility: 6(Six) days in a calendar year.
2.Will be applicable to employees after completion of 1 month from their date of
joining.
3. If an employee joining falls between 01st to 15th of any month than only she/he is
entitled to avail the CL in next month.
3.Will also be applicable to employees on Probation/Regular Trainees.
4. Casual Leave will be granted in units of Full day as may be applied for by an
employee. If taken in units for half day, lunch Interval will be taken as the dividing
line.
5. Casual leave can be taken up to 1 days in a stretch, more than 1 days will be
counted as Earned Leaves.
6. Casual Leave will be created in advance on pro-rata basis from the date of joining
of new employees. In all other cases it will be created w.e.f. 1st January.
7. Un-availed Casual Leave is not en-cashable & will lapse at the end of the calendar
year.

Sick Leave (SL):


1.Eligibility: 7(Seven) days in a calendar year.
2.Will also be applicable to employees on Probation/Regular Trainees.
3.Sick Leave will be created in advance on pro-rata basis from the date of joining of
new employees. In all other cases it will be created w.e.f. 1st January.
4. For availing sick leave for more than 3 days at a time, a certificate from a
registered medical practitioner would be necessary.
5.The maximum accumulated limit for sick leave will be as per below Table-1.
6.Sick Leave will not be en-cashable & will lapse at the end of the calendar year.
Earned Leave (EL):
1. Eligibility: 15(Fifteen) days in a calendar year.
2. For the employees on Probation/Regular Trainees, eligibility of EL will be from
the date of joining, however the same will be credited to the account after
completion of four month from the date of joining .
3. EL will be credited on pro-rata basis on the completion of every calendar year.
4. All the EL shall get reimbursed at the year end.

III. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:


1. At all times it shall be the endeavour of the management to grant all reasonable
request for leave. But no leave can be claimed as a matter of right and can only
be granted subject to exigencies of duty. The sanctioning authority also the
discretion to refuse, curtail or revoke leave at any time due to exigencies of
service. Employees are expected to plan their annual leave in advance, during off
session.
2. An employee who desire to proceed on leave shall apply to the sanctioning
authority and shall not avail the same before it is actually sanctioned, except in
case of emergency and or in case illness.
3. Earned leaves encashment by an employee, is applicable as per above table, at
the time of separation only @last drawn basic.
4. The employees who wants to extend his leave shall forward his extension
application in time to reach the sanctioning authority before expiry of leave
already granted. However, the sanctioning authority has the discretion to refuse
or curtail the request.
5. All leaves will be debited on actual working day basis.
6. Leave entitled will be prorated for the absence period (e.g. if a person is on leave
without salary for 1 month, he shall not be entitled for credit of leave for this
period).
7. All the employees who are covered by ESI scheme, whenever applicable, will be
governed by the provisions of ESI act.
8. There will no retrospectively benefit for the leaves lapsed in the past.
Leave Sanctioning Authority:
Immediate Superior/Head of the Department.

IV. OTHER LEAVES


Leave without Pay (LWP):
If no other kind of leave is due, in case of an emergency, an employee can be
sanctioned leave without pay at the sole discretion of the management.

This policy is applicable from 1st January’2021
