THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Technology nowadays becomes one of the most powerful thing in the world. Simply

because almost all of us are now depends on it. Technologies changed our way of living,

technology creates machine in which are using to make our daily lives

easier.

Our technology became more useful in terms of business purposes, even small and

large businesses rely on computers, software and systems that provides effective, accurate

and more secure database of the company.

Accounting system is a system that manage the daily income and expenses of the company. It
also has the information of the customers which includes the name, contact number, date,
address, and plate numbers and model of the vehicle. It also generates the daily report and an
SMS will be sent automatically to the owner of the company. SMS(short message service)
commonly referred as “text messaging’’, is a service for sending short messages up to 160
characters to mobile devices, including cellular phone and smart phones.

Background of the Study

Ever since CHB Auto service center started, a manual method of recording and

accounting was used. don’t have any Marketing Professional who records all the transactions,

just the staff who do it regularly. It was understandable in the business to use this method

because it started small and there were no large volumes of the records to be kept and

manual record keeping has been manageable for them. But as the business became bigger,

record keeping including file handling, auditing of records and preparing report like

statement of accounts became a major problems for the personnel of the CHB Auto Service

Center.

The researcher proposed an Accounting System that will help the company to record

all the transactions, sales, and expenses on an easy war and tracks all the important

information will be needed mostly in annually, quarterly, monthly and daily income and

expenses. This system can easily check all the information on the database, which is also

secured since only the authorized persons can edit the records on the system.

REVIEW OF RELATED STUDIES AND LITERATURE

This chapter presents the related literature and studies after the thorough and in depth

search done by the researchers. This chapter is also composed of discussions of facts and

principles to which the present study is related. These materials are usually printed and found

in books, encyclopedia, professional journals, magazines, newspapers and other publications.

Related Literature

Here are some foreign some and local literatures related to the current study coming from

different authors

Foreign Literature

Computers helped people in their search of knowledge and their work and the computer was not

made perfect they also had problems

Monody (2013), Differences between manual & computerized systems the main

difference between manual and computerized system is speed. the processed data through

software can create reports much faster than the manual systems and calculation through

automation minimizes errors and increases efficiency.

Having a computerized system can make the computation faster, generating of

reports with just a few clicks, and more efficient when it comes to computation, storing

information and inputting data.

Andries (1995) A computer is composed of different components or parts with each

corresponding parts performing its fundamental function

The computer has different parts of the work that the parts are doing inside the
computer to work

Local Literature

Niguida (1995) A computer can perform hundreds of thousands of arithmetic

operations every second and can run error less for days.

The computer can solve most of the problems that we encounter in our work.

It can also performs without any errors .

Flores (1998) A computer is not an independent solver however owning a computer

will help you solve any problems much faster and it will be less time consuming.

Owning a computer it will be advantageous to your work because it is efficient and

accurate and it can run without any errors.

Cornel (2006) It is important for a system to be accurate because information is

considered a valuable tool especially in a business environment where company’s depend on

the records for production.

Targeting the accuracy of the system is very important especially in a business

environment that depends on the records for production to know if the company is gaining

profit or not.

Related Studies

Here are the foreign and local studies related in this research which came from some

authors are local authors who shared their thoughts, ideas, and opinions affiliates in this

research.

Foreign Studies

Alexander (2012) A billing system is a tool capable of ensuring a good process of

taking accounting purposes, payments and also data storage. It is also one of the most vital

details when it comes to caring for a business and also assuring it smooth running.

It explains that billing systems are useful and necessary in today’s business as we

speak. It helps the owners or the company gets the information about customers who owes

you money, how much is owned and how long the amount has been owned.

Smithson(2009) descried a computerized accounting as a method or scheme or by

which financial information on business transactions are recorded, organize, summarized,
analyzed, interpreted and communicated to stakeholders through the use of computers and
computer based systems such as accounting packages. He emphasized that it’s a mechanized
process of facilitating financial information inflows as well as the automation of accounting
tasks such as database recording and report generation.

However computerized accounting system involves the use of computers to handle

large volume of data with speed, efficiency and accuracy aimed at overcoming fundamental
challenges which do not change the principle.
McRae (1999) defined a computerized accounting system as a system that uses
computers to input, process, store and output accounting information inform of financial
reports.

He adds that accounting system records all transactions that routinely deal with events
that affect the financial position and performance of an entity.

Local Studies

Rolando (2009) Computerization of system provides a fast transaction on products and

it is not time consuming.
Computerization or having a computer is an advantage because it is precise, efficient,
accurate part and accessible. The computer can help researchers in collecting and storing
information. Using a computerized accounting system makes a company or business
productive and less errors.

Bernardo (2010) Manual system is retrieving, maintaining, security, and filling of

records consume a lot of time and efforts this are some cases were loss of records of taking
place because it is misplaced and because of the years gone by. There are also instances when
the information is given to the wrong person which may affect the quality of services.
Manual system is an old fashion way of manipulating data. Manual system could not
perform just like a computer, in manual system many errors and problems may occur. Manual
system may consume a lot of time, inaccurateness of computation, slow process and
unsecured.

Norbert Jr. (1997) A computer based information system is more cost effective and
efficient than a manual system. It speeds up operations and can backup important information
at the touch of a button. It is however very expensive to set up and may need to be
maintained.
It shows how computer based information system or computerized information system
differ in price and speeds. It is more expensive and efficient than a manual system.
