Subject: Conducting enquiry u/s 148A(a) of IT Act, 1961 – Calling for information in your own
case – A.Y. 2016-17 – Regarding.

It is seen from information available in the possession of this office that you have
made huge financial transactions during the F.Y. 2015-16 and failed to offer the resultant
income to tax there from by filing return of income. In this regard, you are requested to
furnish the following information:

1. Copy of your return of income for the A.Y. 2016-17, if filed.

2. Furnish the details of immovable/movable properties sold/purchased during the period
01.04.2015 to 31.03.2016 along with sale deed documents executed, if any.
3. Furnish the details all the bank accounts (including Time Deposits, Recurring Deposits,
etc) held by the assessee during the period 01.04.2015 to 31.03.2016.
4. Furnish the details of all the cash deposits/withdrawals made into/from the bank
accounts along with statement of bank accounts held by the assessee during the
period 01.04.2015 to 31.03.2016, if any.
5. Furnish details of all credit card bills paid during the period 01.04.2015 to 31.03.2016, if
any.
6. Explain the sources for Cash deposits, Time deposits, Purchase of
immovable/movable properties and Credit card bill payments (if any) along with
verifiable evidences.
7. Furnish computation of income for AY 2016-17 (with supporting evidence).

The information is being sought in accordance with provisions of Section 148A(a) of

Income Tax Act 1961. You are requested to submit the information on or before 07.02.2023.
