When using the Warch Barker, the machine should be operated at Low spee, When using the Clock Basket with inserts, use the High speed, The machine is used at High speed when using the Clock Basker in order to compensate for the heavier load. ‘Actually, the basket will rotate at the same speed as in Low when using the Wetch Basket Place the High-Low Switch at the desired positon. Press the Push-Button and hold it for 2 or 3 seconds until the basket motor saris to it, then release button, HERES WHAT WILL HAPPEN—the cleaning basket will rise and the tuen- table will turn to the fist step in the cycle. The basket will be lowered into the cleaning solution in the jar. It will operate approximately for three minutes ‘with reversing movement. Then the basket will rise wo spinoff position and will ‘pin-of in one direction for about 7 seconds, The entice process will then repeat itself in the first and second rinse jars. After the second rinse the basket will be lowered into the drying chamber where it will rotate in one digestion at reduced speed for about three minutes, Then the hasket will rise and come to.a complete stop directly over the drying chamber. I FOLLOW THESE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE BEST RESULTS 1. Completely dsessemble all watches to be cleaned. 2. Avoid placing two large flat surfaces together-in one basket, 3. ‘Train wheels, escapement and screws should be placed in the indented com- partment on the basket tay. 4 You will note that the basket tray cover hat a depressed side. Place this side down over the basket try. The depression will Keep all small parts in the tray. 'S. When attaching the basket to the fanwheel and shaft, hold the fanwheel with one hand with slight downward pressure while attaching the basket with the other. Hold basket by the frame—NOT the mesh! 16 Best results are assured when you use L & R Watch Cleaning and Rinsing Solutions. They were designed for use with each other and were specifically intended for use in this machine. They provide you with highest efficiency and best results, 7. Do not under any circumstance use GASOLINE, BENZINE, BENZOL, BENZENE OR CHLORINATED SOLVENTS SUCH AS. CARBON TETRACHLORIDE, TRICHLORETHYLENE AND PERCHLOR- ETHYLENE, (CHLORINATED SOLVENTS ARE HIGHLY CORROSIVE ON WATCH PARTS AND VERY DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH. GASOLINE. Switch Bthe second switch in the tack controls the main 1/10 HLP. indexing ‘Switch C—the lower switch on the stack is in series with Switeh D, the upper ‘itch of the forward slack. These switches, operating in conjunct=n with each other, stop the machine at the end of the cycle, When they are both open, the machine will not operate. Switeh Ethe lower switch in the forward stack reduces the speed of ‘he basket motor in the drying position. Ifthe speed of the motor in the ds ing chamber is equal to the speed of the basket motor when inthe machine It ismolonger necessary to rely on compromise speeds. Arelatively slow speed can be artived at for the in-sclution pos ion, a faster ‘speed for the spin-off position (resulting in more effi ent spin-off ‘of excess solution in the basket), and stil another : peed in the drying position. The machine comes complete as before, but with the addition of the nw Multimovement H sider. When the machine s ordered with the Uttrasonic attachment, you also receive the ‘cleaning Solution #5. 6. anda cet of Duo-Lube #1 & #2 for rinsing and lubrication of the watches. The oitch or sound 1s much too high to be Neara, thus. ine name ultrasonic. The n of the sound waves in the solution is such tnat extremely small bubbles (cavitation) are createc in the solution. These smail bubbles inen molode :exnioge mwara). This mpiesicn scruos the girt trom the part to be cleaned at very high frequency. The L & R #204 Ultrasonic Unit operates at approximately 65 KHZ at the ‘ransducer Its acvion and power are more than sufficient for cleaning watcnes, clocks. bracelets. rings. watch cases. Dands. etc. Things to know and do before operating the machine. 1. Check your electrical current It must be between 110 anc 120 volts A.C. Voltages selow 105 volts will greatly reduce the efficiency of the unit. improper or nferict results may be ‘encountered in the cleanliness of ine watch. CAUTION — Do not plug intoa DC. outet 2, The solution level in jars is extremely important. in all three positions, the transducer ‘must be 10 airect contact mth the solution and should be immersed for aporoximately ‘4°. if 100 Much solution 's placed in the ar. it will either overtiow or make spin-off impossible, If t00 little is used, insultficient or no contact willbe made with the transducer and can possibly resutt in damage to the transducer. The importance of this solution level cannot be over-emphasized, 3. The machine's controls. a The switch at the front of the generator is used to turn ion. However, the generator will not operate unless the motor switch is triggered when it contacts the jar. When the machine is operating, the pilot light will glow. It only glows when ultrasonic action takes place. The knob on the front panel is the tuning control. This is used to tune or peak the circuit for maximum efficiency. This unit is tuned at the factory, and no further tuning should be necessary. However. iit is ever desired to retune the unit, a slight turn is all that is required. The pilot light supplies a visual indication of this peaking When the pilot light glows brightest, the generator is properly tuned for maximum activity. . Atthe rear of the generator, a fuse holder is located. The cap of this fuse holder is of the bayonet type. A simple twist of this cap counter clockwise will allow this holder tobe withdrawn to change fuses if necessary. The fuses used are type 3AG andare marked for 3.2 amperes, 4. Atthe rear of this machine is a smalitwo prong socket. The switch wire of the motor assembly is plugged into this socket. When the switch trigger is depressed by the jar, the generator will automatically start working, providing the on-off switch at the front of the machine is at “on” position. @. The remaining socket is @ coaxial connector. On Varimatic machines this wire support is unnecessary and can be discarded. 9. Actuator extension should be used only on older machines where the actuator pin is a solid 1" diameter rod. Its not necessary on Varimatic machines and may be discarded. 10. Replace motor on machine and fasten screw. 11.
