Hello all! Welcome to the Felis Boeing 747-200 for XP11. Built from the ground up using
numerous official resources and the input of a former KLM flight engineer and numerous
other pilots, the 747-200 is an in-depth, sophisticated simulation of one of the world’s most
beloved airliners. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JTD-9 engines, with a highly-functional,
in-depth virtual cockpit, three custom-coded Delco-Carousel CIVA INS navigation systems
and detailed flight engineer panel, as well as FMOD sounds, PBR external textures and a 3D
cabin, the 747-200 is made to give you hundreds of hours of enjoyment. Whether crossing the
great Atlantic Pond, flying from one East Coast to the West, journeying “down under” by
way of Hawaii or the South Pacific islands, traversing the path from Europe to Asia by way
of the Middle East, crossing the great African continent…the 747 is just right for you. Step
back in time with the old carriers like British Airways or United, or bring back to life long-
departed but not-forgotten airlines like Pan Am and TWA.
Other resources
This airplane comes with several custom-made documents for proper operation. Including is
a guide to the 747 cockpit, a list of normal procedures for A-B line flying and a manual
dedicated to proper INS.
Finding routes
Given that the 747-200 is rare today, and most are freight only, finding real-world routes
through the usual methods (FlightAware, Flightradar24, etc) can be difficult. Here are three
resources I would recommend:

http://www.departedflights.com/index.html
https://www.dropbox.com/s/h3yjkzpgkx8estn/FlightScheduler_1.7.zip?dl=0
And finally, feel free to drop by the discord to chat with your fellow 742 pilots. Happy
flying!

Installation & Activation
Download the Felis 747 and put it in your XP11 aircraft folder. Load up XP11 and the 747.
When loaded in, insert and activate your unique key. It is always recommended to restart
the sim fully when installing/updating.

For INS options, read the separate manual dedicated to the INS.
Options
You can use this page to customize the aircraft’s payload and plan the desired fuel amount.
You can enter in a custom number of passengers and cargo, or otherwise choose from a
preset amount of 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% respectively. If any of the figures in Final results
turn red, it means you’ve got a bit ambitious with the payload.
You can also determine the ideal amount of fuel for your journey. You can enter in the
distance to your destination (in nautical miles), your desired flight level, the tail wind, the
distance to your alternate (again, in nautical miles), your desired amount of contingency fuel
(in percentages) and your desired taxi fuel (in minutes).
You can also display a loadsheet and save it in TXT. Format (see below).
Loadsheet
This is the loadsheet. It displays the figures selected in the load calculator. You can save this
loadsheet by clicking on SAVE AS TXT. It will save in your Felis 747 folder, in the output
folder.
Fuel Page
This is the fuel page. It will show you the fuel on board, the calculated amount of fuel
according to the loadsheet, and different options for fuel load. You can click on USE
LOADSHEET DATA, which will load in the amount of fuel from the load calculator. If you
already have fuel in the aircraft, it will display the amount of fuel that needs to be added to
the tanks and the total amount of fuel desired. You can either:
Call in a fuel tanker to add/drain the amount of fuel needed to reach the desired
amount:
Or call in a fuel tanker to add the total amount, including any fuel for APU operation.
You can also choose to instantly fuel the aircraft.
You can also use mouse scroll to change the values.
Payload Manager
This is the payload page. It will show you the amount of passenger and cargo calculated by
the loadsheet and give you options to load.
Calculated pax/cargo: Gives you the amount of, well, pax and cargo calculated by the
loadsheet.
Calculated ZF CG/ TOW CG: Gives you the zero fuel and take-off centre of gravity
calculated by the loadsheet.
You can than press USE LOADSHEET data. It will display the people to board and
cargo to load, and the resulting zero fuel weight, block weight and centre of gravity
(taking into account the current fuel weight). You can choose to either board or
deboard the passengers, and load or unload the cargo. You can also choose to do this
instantly.
At the bottom of the page, you can see the current amount of crew, passengers and cargo.
You can also use mouse scroll to change the values.
Ground Handling
What you see on the ground service page depends on whether you use JAR ground handling.
Without:
You can set wheel chocks, connect ground power and open the cargo doors.
With JAR ground handling:
You can also call for a crew bus, ambulance or fire trucks. You can reset these options at any
time by pressing RESET JD GHD at the bottom.
Fast Load
You can use this page to quick’n’dirty load a desired amount of fuel and payload into the
742. Use the mouse scroll to change the values then press WRITE INTO SIM to load.
Checklists
The 747-200 comes with interactive checklists for different phrases of flight, from before
start to shut down. These checklists are based on the real-world ones used by Transworld
Airlines.
When you run through the checklists (press START), each item will be called and, if done
correctly, be highlighted green. If the item does not highlight and you hear audible frustration
from the virtual pilots and flight engineer, double-check the item. When corrected, it will be
“ticked off”. You can also choose to reset the checklist, skip an item or “override” an
unchecked one. Use the bottom right controls to scroll through checklists.
Take-Off Calculator
The Take-Off Calculator will determine your ideal V-speeds and flap retraction schedule.
In the INPUT section:
Enter in the Take-Off weight and Centre of Gravity, then choose the desired flaps
setting (either 10 or 20). You can also choose to read the weight and cg from the
loadsheet/simulator.
Enter in the:
o Runway length (in meters, round up not down).
o Airport elevation (in feet, round up not down).
o Runway heading.
o Runway slope.
o You can also enter in the weather manually (runway condition, temperature (jn
Celsius), barometer reading and winds, or enter in the data from the sim.
In the RESULTS section:
You can see the speeds for V1, VR, V2, flaps 20 to 10, flaps 10 to 5, flaps 5 to 1 and
flaps 1 to 0. You can press the speed bugs config to automatically set the speed bugs
on both pilot airspeed indicators.
Check the desired take-off trim, engine-out pitch and the optimal climb speed.
You can also see the required runway length and the corrected runway length.
Landing Calculator
This is the landing calculator. The INPUT section works the same as the Take-Off calculator,
but instead of take-off weight and CG, uses landing weight and CG, as well as choosing
between flaps 25 and flaps 30.
In the RESULTS section, you can see:
The minimum flaps up speed.
The minimum speed for each flaps setting (make sure you have the flaps in this config
BEFORE passing this speed.
The Vref speed (add at least 5 knots to this for your approach speed, more if you have
strong winds).
You can click on the green section to set the bugs. In order to see the correct bugs, make sure
you press THE CENTRE OF THE ALTIMETER or else it will display the take-off bugs.
You can also see the calculated landing distance for all autobrake settings.
The Cabin PA System
The Felis 747 comes with a series of cabin PA announcements you can “trigger” recorded by
a real Flight Attendant.
To properly experience the PA system, put the volume on the PA radio all the way up.
You can interrupt any PA/reset the PA system by pressing FLT INT.
EFDARS System
This is the default page. You can see different graphs and values for numerous axis and
instruments.
And here you can see numerous values in a clear-to-read format, including instruments and
flight control surfaces. You can also play your flight either in real-time or sped up, using the
controls on the bottom.
