Definition of Terms
Environmental Awareness

Environment The surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant

lives or operates.

Environment Is the deterioration in environmental quality from ambient

Degradation concentrations of pollutants and other activities and processes such
as improper land use and natural disasters.

Environmental Is having an understanding of the environment, the impacts of human

Awareness behaviors on it, and the importance of its protection.

Social Factors
Overpopulation -The environmental impact of so many people is
conceptualized in two ways: consumption of resources such as land, food,
water, air, fossil fuels, and minerals. Consumption of waste products includes
air and water pollutants, toxic materials, and greenhouse gases.
Poverty - Poverty frequently causes people to place a disproportionate amount
of pressure on the environment, resulting in larger families, improper human
waste disposal leading to unhealthy living conditions, increased pressure on
fragile land to meet their needs, overexploitation of natural resources, and
increased deforestation.
Urbanization - Deforestation, habitat loss, and the extraction of freshwater
from the environment are all common side effects of urbanization, which can
reduce biodiversity and alter species ranges and interactions.

Economic Factors

Transportation Activities -Transportation activities have a wide range of

environmental impacts, including air pollution, noise from road traffic, and oil
spills from marine vessel shipping.

Agricultural Development - Farming activities contribute to soil erosion, land

salination, and nutrient loss, which harm the environment. The spread of the
green revolution has been accompanied by the over-exploitation of land and
water resources, as well as an increase in the use of fertilizers and pesticides.

Industrialization - The greater a country's industrial capacity, the greater its

economic growth and development potential.

Natural Factors

Natural Disasters -Earthquakes, windstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires,

and floods have the potential to cause long-term environmental harm,
incurring costs and liability to property owners.

The Industrial Revolution began in the 18th century in
England and spread throughout Europe and around the
world. New industrial practices cause nations to shift
away from agrarian economies and toward industrial
economies. To generate power for these industrial

Industrial
practices, fossil fuels were burned, resulting in a
deterioration of environmental quality.

Revolution Industrialization is still taking place in developing

countries today. Developing countries frequently lack
the financial resources to support clean energy, forcing
them to rely on traditional methods such as burning
coal, oil, or petroleum to power their industries.

The consequences of industrial practices range from

local pollution to global climate change. These effects
have catastrophic consequences for our environment
and all life on Earth.

Environmental Awareness

Environmental education is necessary so that

industries understand their role in maintaining a
healthy world. Environmental impact assessments and
environmental change research are essential to

Industrial
understand what actions can be taken to reduce the
industry's environmental impact. We can continue to
move forward in the right direction if we understand

Revolution the changes that occurred.

Industrial practices result in pollution, ecological

consequences, and atmospheric changes. Climate
change and global warming are forcing us to change
the industry structure. As we transition to renewable
energy and industries find innovative, new solutions
for their industrial practices, the world will be a better
place.
