ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
A pedagogical strategy that enables the study and
understanding of local environmental problems and
contributes to the search for solutions in accordance with the
realities of each region and municipality, in a natural, social,
cultural, political and economic context. An education in
environmental work is essential, aimed at both young
generations and adults, to broaden the bases of a well-
informed public opinion and the behavior of individuals,
companies and communities.
THE EDUCATIONAL-
ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESSES
Promote the application of knowledge for the understanding
and transformation of the realities of students and
contribute to the strengthening. Access to Information and
Communication Technologies-ICT is necessary to stimulate
changes and improve quality and the curriculum in the
environmental classroom.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Is a philosophy of life that cares for the environment
and protects it in order to preserve it and guarantee its
present and future balance. We must be aware that
one of the aspects that deteriorates nature the most is
man. Deforestation, air pollution, water pollution and
global warming, for example, are a consequence of the
lifestyle that prevails in our society.
THE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT
Is an indicator that measures the portion of land necessary
for the life of the human being in relation to its consumption.
That is, the capacity of the Earth, measured in hectares, to
absorb the waste generated by a person according to the
portion of the corresponding planet. It is possible to define a
type of lifestyle that generates a sustainable ecological
footprint, that is, that does not exceed the carrying capacity of
the Planet if it generalizes to all humanity. The estimation and
analysis of the individual and collective ecological footprint,
therefore, can be a powerful tool to move towards a
sustainable use of natural resources.
ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
IsIt is the "principle of government of the use of
natural resources that allows satisfying the needs of
present generations without compromising the
possibilities of future generations to meet their own
needs." Today, we understand the concept of
environmental sustainability as the balance that is
generated in a harmonious relationship between
human beings and nature.
