2. DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

Each vessel shall be designed to operate safely at full pressure when exposed to the 100 year
return period loads, and shall be designed to survive the 10000-year return period storm, albeit
de-pressured. (From EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION FOR PRESSURE VESSELS, Sec 9.2)

SUPPLIER shall provide the reactions of steel saddles / supports calculations at

100-year cyclonic storm (Operating), 10000-year cyclonic storm (Survival) as per
Topsides Structural Basis of Design document no. 4477-BWO-N-FD-00001
(From EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION FOR PRESSURE VESSELS, Sec 9.8)

The raw data(above table) is given in Attachment C, and the maximum result of each loading condition with
10% margin is separately put in Attachment A for easy reference for the topside design values.

az_pitch and az_roll are vertical accelerations for head sea and for beam sea, respectively, as defined in
DNVGL-RU-SHIP Pt.3 Ch.4.

Head sea (az_pitch)

A sea in which waves are directly opposing the motion of the ship, or approaching within 15° of ahead.
Beam sea (az_roll)
A sea in which waves are moving perpendicular to a vessel's course.
