Our Lady of Fatima

COVA DA IRIA, FATIMA, PORTUGAL, 1917

Mary, the Mother of God, appeared to Lucia dos Santos and

her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, six times between
May and October of 1917. Each time she appeared, she
spoke to them about the importance of prayer, particularly
the rosary, and the power of doing even small sacrifices
for the conversion of sinners. On October 13th, Our Lady
performed a wonderful miracle before the children and a
large crowd of 70,000 people: the sun danced and whirled
in the sky! The ground—which was soaked with rain—was
instantly dried! She did this to remind everyone of God’s
glory and of the importance of daily prayer.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Fatima, as our Mother, you know and share

in our sorrows, our joys, and our hopes. Please pray for us
that we may never forget the comfort and strength that
comes from remaining close to your Son! Amen.
