This document provides information about an examination for a translation strategies course. It consists of two parts:
Part 1 (60%) involves identifying and deciding on translation strategies - there are two questions that require identifying the strategy used and two that require deciding on a strategy.
Part 2 (40%) involves error analysis and improvement - there are two questions that require identifying errors in a translation and suggesting improvements.

The examination consists of TWO main parts as follows:
Part 1: Translation strategies (60%)
1.1. Identify the translation strategy (30%)
There are 02 questions in this part. Each question includes a source text (either in English or Vietnamese) and its translation. A particular phrase or some words (from both the source and target text) will be underlined, and you will have to identify the translation strategy that the translators used to translate it. For example:

There are 02 questions in this part. Each question includes ONLY a source text (one in English and the other in Vietnamese). A particular phrase or some words from the source text will be underlined, and you will have to decide on the strategy you would use to translate the phrase and briefly justify your choice (i.e. explain the appropriateness or effectiveness of the strategy). For example:
Part 2: Error analysis and improvement (40%)
There are 02 questions in this part. Each question includes a source text (either in English or Vietnamese) and its erroneous translation. You will have to identify and analyze the different errors in the translation then make suggestions to improve it.
