THE PASSIVE CAUSATIVE FORM


KEY INFORMATION: The PASSIVE CAUSATIVE FORM(also called ‘causative
voice’ is used when you want to talk about something that someone
else did for you or for another person. That is to say, the subject caused
the action but actually did not do it by themselves. They asked the
other person to do it or paid them to do it.
Examples:
‘I had my hair cut’’
She is having her wisdom teeth removed
I will get my car fixed next weekend

Grammar combination for the passive causative voice:
‘I had my hair cut’’

Subject+ causative verb+ object+ dynamic verb in past participle

Note: The tenses timeline (present, past, future, etc.) is ruled by the
causative verbs (have or get (less formal).

Examples:
I have my hair cut
I am having my hair cut
I had my hair cut
I will have my hair cut

She gets her pizza delivered


She is getting her pizza delivered
She got her pizza delivered
She will get her pizza delivered

Note: Despite the fact that you may hear people saying: ‘I cut my hair’ or ‘I fixed my car”
if the actions were not done by the speaker those expressions are gramatically incorrect.
