1. Find out the curriculum for preschool and nursery based on the article given.

The curriculum in Malaysia is focused to stimulate thinking, develop positive attitude


and behavior. They also tend to enhance fitness and health. Next, they focus on developing
child in holistic, balance and integrated manner. Provide a comfortable, safe and cheerful
learning environment.
1. The first curriculum in Malaysia is Permata National Curriculum. The curriculum
aspires to provide learning through experience for children age 0-4 years old. Enhance the
child’s potentials based on principles of learning through play. This curriculum is also had an
important aspect to be prioritize.
-Active interaction and communication.
-Stimulation of mind and literacy.
-Empowering children.
-Independent learning.
-Monitoring children’s abilities and potentials.
-Learning through play.
The context is made to address six key areas of learning and development which
include:
- Development of early mathematics and logical thinking.
- Development of senses and understanding of the environment.
- Development of language, communication and early literacy.
- Development of creativity and aesthetics.
- Physical development
- Personality, socio-emotional and spiritual development.
2. The next curriculum is National Preschool Standard Curriculum (NPSC). This
curriculum is formulated to standardize the curriculum, facilities and training of teachers in
the public sector and private preschool centers to address the requirements at the educators
Act 1996. The curriculum was piloted in 100 school across the country in 2002. In 2003,
NPSC rolled in Malaysia. Built on six pillars, namely:
- Communication.
- Science and Technology
- Spiritual, attitude and values.
- Humanity.
- Self-Appearance.
- Physical and Aesthetic Development.
