Ref: 1. Res, No, 2.2.1 of Academic Senate dated 15-11-2022 2. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor's approval dated : 15-11-2022 University has received several requests for relaxation in vertical progression for students who are admitted to I semester / I year BE./ B.Tech. Programmes during the academic year 2021-22 under Regulations Governing the B.E./ B.Tech. Programmes under CBCS -2021 due to introduction of new scheme from the academic year 2022-23. These requests are placed before joint Board of Studies in its meeting held on 4-11-2022, The Joint Board of Studies recommended to amend the Vertical progression clause of 2021 regulations. The recommendations of Joint Board of Studies were placed before Academic Senate in its meeting held on 15-11-2022, ‘The Academic Senate vide ref (1) above resolved to Amend the Clauses of Vertical progression of Regulations Governing the B.E./ B.Tech. B.Arch, and B.Plan Programmes under CBCS -2021 . Hence, the amended Clauses of Vertical progression of Regulations Governing the B.E./ B.Tech,, B.Arch. and B.Plan Programmes under CBCS -2021 is notified as below: ~ Amendment for B.E./B.Tech. Programme Existing ‘Amended 210B14.0 Vertical Progression 200814.0 Vertical Progression 210814.1 210814.1 ‘All the below clauses are subject toa maximum. duration of eight (for Regular Students) / six years (for Lateral Entry Students) as applicable. 1) In the case of students admitted to the first year: All the below clauses are subject to a maximum duration of eight (for Regular Students) / six years (for Lateral Entry Students) as applicable 1) Inthe case of students admitted to the first year: 2) ‘Amendment for B.E./B.Tech. Programme Existing (a) Students have to fulfil the attendance and CIE requirement to appear for SEE of course/s of 1" year (refer to clause no. 21085.4] (b) Students having not more than four F grades in the 1” and 2" semesters of the first year of the program shall be eligible to move to the 3” semester (2 year) of the program, These courses include courses marked as NE as per clause no. 210B12.2 and 210B10.11 {c) The students who fail to satisfy Cle and attendance requirement have to repeat the courses whenever offered next and become eligible for the 2 year. (Refer to clause no 2109.9 and 21085.1) Obtaining CIE: From the (3° semester) second year onwards the student who obtains the required attendance for the course, but not the required CIE marks is allowed to move forward to the next semester. However, the student has to mandatorily obtain the required CIE in the subsequent semester. Obtaining minimum CIE marks for the course is mandatory. It may also be noted that the student shall not be permitted to appear for SEE in such courses until he/she obtains the required CIE (Refer to clause no.21089. ‘Amended (a) Students have to fulfill the attendance and CIE requirement to appear for SEE of course/s of 1" year (refer to clause no. 21085.4) (b) Carryover of backlog courses: From 1” semester till 6” semester the student/s who obtains required attendance, CIE, and appears for university examinations but fails (F Grade) to pass a course/s is, allowed to move forward to the next semester (odd/even) irrespective of a number of F grades, including courses ‘Absent for SEE. However, for the award of a degree, the student must pass all the courses as per applicable schemes and regulations and earn the prescribed credits.
