What does the word “Christian” mean in the university’s name – Colorado

Christian University?

After reading the biblical perspective of the lesson, I have come to the conclusion

that being a Christian in this time, one must have a clear understand of what that

title or words stands for. In my journey as a Christian, I have gathered enough

information to lead me to one definition which is a follower of Christ, using the

gospels as guides. Now that the word Christian has been dismantle for learning

purposes through this perspective, I see why CCU focuses their ongoing learners to

what really means to be a Christian. The word evangelical caught my attention

when its definition was presented as a “Christian identifier within orthodox

Christianity”(session 1 Biblical Perspective, n.d). Which focus on conversionism,

profound change in one’s life. Meditating in how CCU presented this perspective I

derive that being a faith founded institute their main goal is to orientate individuals

to seek God by applying the scriptures to their daily life without limiting their

knowledge to denominations. In their statement of faith, they clearly state “that the

66 books of the Bible, in their original manuscripts, are without error” (Statement of

faith at Colorado Christian University, n.d). Pointing to the reality that the word of

God does not change, and it has the same outcome through generations. The word

Christian in CCU stands for a transcending movement that does not accommodate
denomination, rather it teaches its ongoing learners to apply a biblical perspective

to their vocation or daily occupation to promote positive change in individuals.

Always having present the base of it all, Gods Love for humanity.

How does this meaning impact your view of your education here at CCU?

Being able to attend a faith founded university is a privilege. While seeking a college

to further my education I was worried of the lessons ahead. I knew that a university

base on science alone was going to be a challenge, because of my faith. God has

put CCU on my path, and now that I am enroll in CCU, I have a deeper

understanding of what this institute really stands for. Understanding their position

is this world full of different denominations it has staple me in my focus of helping

others to come back to Christ. Since I believe God never wanted to be apart from

his creation, yet sin pull us apart. The meaning of Christian is the CCU named has

impacted me in changing the way a view Christianity. I believe comprehending this

meaning is going to help me draw a clear path to my goal, while gaining more than

what I though is was possible.
