D-LRN on Wheels

In this fast-evolving generation, literacy is no longer limited but also the students
need to develop literacy in ICT skills. As technology becomes more essential,
teachers are challenged to aid the development of students’ ICT skills and be
proficient in integrating technology in the classroom.

Various ICT resources are available nowadays, such as TV/Radio, Multimedia, the
internet, social media, interactive whiteboard, and mobile app. These resources
deepen and enhance the learning process, it allows the teacher to modify
resources easily. The use of these resources provides a lot of possibilities for
students to learn in a new way and enhance the teaching-learning environment. If
these ICT resources are used appropriately and supported properly, it can build
on learners’ prominent achievement, inspires creative thinking, and encourage
the development of skills that will raise a competitive generation, and open for
big opportunities in the future.

We have come up with an innovative way to incorporate ICT into our learning
sources with these. Our Innovation is entitled D-LRN which stands for Digital-
Learning Reading and Numeracy

Overview:
Out of 27 recipients, 60% showed results of improved reading skills, show
improvement of fine motor skills, and results of enhanced numeracy skills.
We came up with this innovation with the objectives of increasing learners’
motivation and engagement by transcending the traditional way of enhancing
kindergartens’ literacy skills through the appropriate integration of ICT, thus it
provides children with academic opportunity and productivity, efficiency, growth
and promotes the learner-centered environment.
