We use so/neither + auxiliary verb + I to show that we have something in common with another person.
We use so + auxiliary verb + I when we agree with positive statements. "I’m hungry." - "So am I".
When there is no auxiliary verb, we use do when we reply. "I like ice-cream". - "So do I".
We use neither + auxiliary verb + I when we agree with negative statements. "I’m not hungry." - "Neither am
"I don’t like football". - "Neither do I".
The reply should be in the same tense as the first statement. "I liked the film." - "So did I.".
