Discussion
In this test, we tried to determine the field dry unit weight and field moisture content of the given
place, the results we get after doing the procedure were ( 𝛾𝑜𝑓 𝑑𝑟𝑦 𝑠𝑜𝑖𝑙 = 1.53 𝒈⁄𝒄𝒎𝟑 and
(R.C.) =102% ) , according to the standard and the laboratory compaction test we can compare
our sample’s max density with field density to know is the field compaction reach the acceptable
level of compaction or not , from the relative compaction it shows that soil it may have been over
compacted or it may be because of the condition in the field do not match with the condition in lab
and hence the nature of compaction in field and lab are different. However, this relative
compaction can be acceptable but excessive compaction poses a risk of fracturing granular soils
resulting in the reduction soil strength parameters .
