India-ID Document (Aadhaar Card)

Purpose
This document provides a step-by-step instruction on how to obtain a Masked Aadhaar card
that can be shared with First Advantage for the purpose of Background screening.

Applicant Instructions
First Advantage recommends that Applicants review the below instructions and follow the
process before uploading the Aadhaar card into their profile. You may obtain an already
masked Aadhaar card from the UIDAI’s website. If you prefer to do it manually follow the
instructions at the bottom of this document.

How to Download Masked Aadhaar

1. Visit UIDAI’s website https://uidai.gov.in/ and click on “Download Aadhaar”
2. Select the option of Aadhaar/VID/Enrolment ID in “I Have” section
3. Now tick the “Masked Aadhaar” in “Select your Preference” option
4. Enter other required details in the fields provided and click on “Request OTP” and
then click on “I Agree”
5. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar when you click on
“Confirm”
6. Enter the OTP, take the Quick Survey and click on “Download Aadhaar”
7. Your masked Aadhaar will be downloaded on your system.
8. The downloaded file is password protected as shown below:

Manually mask the 8 digits on the Aadhaar

A clear photo of the Aadhaar can be captured via mobile device by placing a white paper on
the first 8 digits on the Aadhaar card as below.

Note: The full name needs to be clearly visible and should not be covered.
