Performance Reliability Simplicity
DOEN DJ152
Introducing the all new DJ152
Doen WaterJets is pleased to add the DJ152 waterjet to its current range. Following the successful
launch of the new DJ142 and DJ172 waterjets, it was timely to complement our ‘transom mount’ models
with a 15” (381mm) one.

DJ152 waterjet perfectly meets DOEN’s key design criteria of superior Performance, excellent
Reliability and sheer Simplicity of installation, operation and maintenance.

Construction comprises Stainless Steel and heavy-duty powdercoated Aluminium components protected
with an anode anti-corrosion system. The use of modular construction has allowed the DJ152 to be
lightweight, compact and simple to maintain and repair while being a robust commercially rated waterjet.
The heavy-duty propulsion shaft and bearings, and a reverse mechanism with two cylinders assist in
providing long life and trouble-free operation.

The waterjet simply bolts into the hull by way of an insert that forms an integral part of the hull and
provides a strong and leak proof mounting surface. It also allows accommodating for varying hull
material, deadrise and transom angle as well as providing a way of altering the longitudinal position of
the waterjet at the transom. DOEN can supply mould inserts for GRP boats and weld-in alloy inserts for
aluminium boats to ensure installation is as simple as possible.

Inspection cover of the standard DJ152 is outboard with a quick release hatch without the risk of
flooding. However, if required the waterjet can be supplied with an inboard inspection hatch through a
deep recessed hull insert.

The DJ152 is also available in Direct Thrust variant, DJ152-DT. With Doen’s Direct Thrust waterjet
products the impeller main shaft is arranged to thrust directly to the gearbox just like a conventional
propeller arrangement. Direct Thrust waterjets provide for more compact installation and cheaper
maintenance ongoing.
DOEN DJ152
DJ152 can be supplied with an array of control options; the default is Doen’s standard hydraulic rotary
servo control (RSC), which provides proportional, position sensing, and control of the reversing bucket
by way of a 3” (75mm) stroke Morse 33C cable. The balanced nozzle steering design minimises
required input force and provides precise control. The hydraulic steering and reverse cylinders are
bulkhead mounted to the transom flange with all connections inboard and protected from corrosion.

DJ152 can also be configured with Doen’s fully fledged class compliant electronic control system,
ECS400 or with ECS-lite, our low-cost electronic control system that combines waterjet reverse bucket
and engine throttle functions into a single dual function lever, and also provides for gear select and
essential alarms. eDOCK single joystick docking control panel is an add-on to the ECS400 control
system. This device is intended for close docking manoeuvres, and co-ordinates the combined control of
all waterjets steering and reversing and the engine throttle so as to provide the user with a simple and
intuitive vectored control.

DJ152 is in strong demand within the commercial and military markets, typically twin installations in small
and medium size workboats and patrol vessels powered by inboard diesel engines up to 900hp.

Doen WaterJets is a market leader in design and manufacturing of axial flow waterjets; nearly 50 years
experience in design and application engineering, together with significant investment in R&D and a
policy of continuous product improvement has placed Doen waterjets at the forefront of the industry.

DJ152 provides yet another testimonial to Doen WaterJets unrivalled capability in offering extremely
high-performance waterjets to the marketplace with very competitive pricing.

Key Product Features:
HIGH THRUST PUMP
Optimally sized to best suit engine/s power range and target vessel size
and weight envelope, the 381mm axial flow pump efficiently converts
horsepower into a high volume jet flow, delivering high thrust, more range
and more payloads with reduced fuel consumption.

IMPELLER TECHNOLOGY
The DJ152 can be configured for high bollard pull (maximum low speed
thrust) or variable speed and load operation. Impeller and nozzle
combinations are custom matched to each application to ensure optimum
performance is achieved.

VERIETY OF CONTROL SYSTEMS

Customers have a range of controls to choose from for DJ152; from
simple hydro-mechanical follow-up RSC to fully integrated electronic
control system, ECS400, which satisfies the standards of all international
classification societies.

HEAVY-DUTY COMPONENT
The heavy-duty propulsion shaft and bearings, and a robust reverse
mechanism with two inboard cylinders assist in providing long life and
trouble-free operation under harsh and demanding conditions that is faced
by workboats day in, day out.

INBOARD INSPECTION HATCH

Inspection cover of the standard DJ152 is outboard mounted and simply
retained using three bolts. This means quick release operation without the
risk of flooding. However, if required the waterjet can be supplied with an
inboard inspection hatch through hull insert.

TRANSOM MOUNTING
Utilizing Doen’s proven quick and simple transom mounting method results
in less intrusion into valuable inboard space, allowing more compact
machinery arrangements further aft in the boat. GRP mould plug for
fiberglass boats and alloy insert for Aluminium hulls are available.
