Optima Series currently consists of eight models that perfectly meet Doen WaterJets key design criteria of
superior Performance, excellent Reliability and sheer Simplicity of installation, operation and maintenance.
These waterjets all use our latest impeller technology to deliver mixed flow type, high speed performance,
within an axial build; this approach combines the key benefits of excellent high-speed efficiency with superior
cavitation margins and efficiency at lower speeds and cruise conditions.
Optimised to best suit the speed regime of the craft, the fabricated duct manufactured from hull matching
material translates into 30% weight saving over a cast intake, and warrants superior integration into the hull
as well as scope for customisation to improve performance and/or machinery interfacing.
Thrust bearing assemblies are inboard and separated from shaft seals allowing complete removal on water
if required. Furthermore, all main pump flanges are outboard, further enhancing the superior integrity of the
product in the vessel. This also allows for the possibility of emergency work on outboard pump parts to be
done on water if absolutely necessary.
Alternatively the waterjets can be configured with ECS-lite, Doen’s low-cost electronic control which
combines the engine and throttle control by way of single double function lever. It also provides for gear
select and alarm functions.
The Optima Series waterjets are also available in Direct Thrust (DT)
and Integrated Waterjet (IWJ) variants.
The design and construction of all Optima Series comply with the most stringent industry standards and
Classification Societies requirements, and they have been certified to ABS, BV, DNV-GL, Lloyds, Rina or
other marine standards upon customer request.
Key Features of Optima Series:
IMPELLER TECHNOLOGY
All models use our latest impeller technology to deliver mixed flow type,
high speed performance, within an axial build. Impeller and nozzle
combinations are custom matched to each application to ensure optimum
performance is achieved.
PRODUCT VARIANTS
All models can be also supplied in Direct Thrust (DT) or Integrated Waterjet
(IWJ) variants. DT waterjet offers a cheaper, simpler and compact solution
for the right applications and IWJ provides the simplest and most cost-
effective method for installing waterjet into fiberglass hulls.
