Introduction

The destination we chose for our work trip was Australia as it is a country with
a great diversity of animal species and one of the main tourist centers in the world.

We are veterinary doctors and we want to make this trip because we believe it is an
asset to our knowledge, it will be an opportunity to get to know a reality completely different
from that experienced in Portugal.

During the work we will demonstrate how we planned our trip by addressing the
following topics:

- Framework on Australia;

- Luggage: necessary and other essential documents;

- Booking of flights;

- Hotel booking;

- Points to visit;

Australia

Australia is an island country located on the continent of Oceania, bordered by the

Indian Ocean to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east. Its capital city is Canberra. The
Australian territory is one of the largest in the world, with more than 7,600 km².

In central Australia lies a vast desert region, where the arid climate contrasts with the
mild climates of the south and east of the country. Australia's fauna and flora are very rich and
made up of thousands of endemic species such as kangaroos and other marsupial animals.

Climatic conditions

The climate in Australia is basically divided into two characteristics: tropical, which
covers the northernmost regions, and temperate, which covers the southernmost regions.

Spring:

Between September and November, spring appears to make the weather in

Australia even cozier. The country becomes beautiful, the flowers begin to appear,
making the city parks more cheerful and alive.

During this time of the year, the temperature in Australia can reach 25 degrees,
making the climate cooler.

Summer:

It occurs between December and February. During this time, temperatures can reach 40
degrees Celsius.

Autumn:

Autumn in Australia runs from March to May, the intense heat of the summer is gone and the
cooler weather arrives.

The temperature in Australia during this time can vary slightly between 17 and 25 degrees.
And as usual, in the autumn the leaves start to fall, giving another look to the cities.

Winter:

Australia has the warmest temperatures in the North, and the coldest in the South, ranging
from 4 to 20 degrees.

Winter lasts from June to September.

It is possible to find snow in the south of the country, especially in mountainous regions, with
temperatures below freezing.

We decided to make our trip in the summer, more specifically from January 8, 2024 to
January 16, 2024. We chose this time of year because we think it is the most opportune time
to make our trip, and because of the climate there is more variety of animals, so it will be more
enriching for us.

As far as language is concerned, the official language is English.

Documents

Portuguese nationals to enter Australia need:

- Valid passport;

Página 5 de 14
- Valid Visa;

- Incoming Passenger Card (IPC): is a document that will be given to you during the flight and
should be filled in. It has two parts (front and back), in which you declare all your personal
data, current health condition and what you are carrying in your suitcase;

- Identification.

Booking of flights

We decided to take our trip from January 6, 2024 to January 15, 2024.

The airline we chose to fly us to Australia was Emirates.

On January 6 we took the flight at 20:45 and arrived at Kingsford Smith

Airport in Sydney, which was the city in Australia we chose to visit, at
18:20 on January 8. In total, it was a 34 hour and 35 minute trip.

Both of us can take two 25kg pieces of luggage.

To return we boarded on January 15th at 9:10pm and arrived in Lisbon

on January 16th at 12:00pm.

In both the outward and the return trip we have to make a stopover in
Dubai. We stayed longer in Dubai on the outbound trip to Australia.

On the flights we spent 1730.38 £.
