ZYDUS WELLNESS

Introduction Of Company: - It is the company behind brands like “Sugar free”


“Everyuth”and Nutralite etc. The company is the subsidiary of cadila healthcare one
of the biggest pharma companies in India.

Background:- Zydus Wellness is an integrated consumer company that


combines the best of health, wellness and skincare spaces. The result is a basket
of wellness products that enrich lives.

Group and Promoters:-Zydus Wellness, a subsidiary of Cadila Healthcare


Limited is the flagship company of the Zydus Cadila Group. Zydus
Cadila is promoted by Mr. Pankaj Patel and family.

Locations:-Zydus Wellness is headquartered in Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India). The


Company manufactures its range of health and wellness products. across three
manufacturing facilities – one in Ahmedabad and one in Sikkim (ISO 22000 and
ISO 14001 certified, GMP certified) that are marketed pan-India. We have
also added one more manufacturing facility at Sikkim. The new production unit
of Zydus Wellness - Sikkim, the partnership firm commenced its commercial
production during the fourth quarter.
Footprint:- Zydus Wellness products are marketed pan-India through
a robust distribution network comprising 1000+ distributors and ~1000 feet- on-
street representatives, who facilitate coverage of more than 8,00,000 outlets
including indirect reach. The Company’s distribution capability has been facilitated
by a proactive investment in 23 cold chain warehouses and 27 ambient warehouses.

Brands:- The Company’s flagship brands Sugar Free, Everyuth and Nutralite
operating in health, wellness and skin care spaces enjoys visible and market-
leading positions.

History of company :- Carnation Nutra-Analogue Foods was founded in 1994 as a
producer of dairy substitutes. Over the next decade, its margarine product Nutralite
became the largest selling margarine brand in India.[6]
In 2006, Zydus Cadila acquired a 14.96% stake in the company.[6] Cadila's stake in
the company increased to over 70% in 2008, after the merger of Cadila's consumer
goods business, which included sugar substitute brand Sugar Free and EverYuth
range of skincare products, into Carnation.[7] The merged entity was then named as
Zydus Wellness Limited.[8]
In 2009, the company began manufacturing men's grooming and skincare
products.[8][9] In 2011, Zydus Wellness launched its milk additive brand Actilife.[10]
In 2017, Zydus Wellness developed stevia products as part of its sugar substitute
business.[11] In 2018, it launched its second sugar substitute brand called Sugarlite.[12]
In January 2019, Zydus Wellness acquired a part of Heinz India's business
for ₹4,595 crore (US$640 million), which included the health drink brand Complan,
glucose-based energy drink additive Glucon D, talcum powder brand Nycil and
Sampriti Ghee. It also took over Heinz India's manufacturing facilities
in Aligarh and Sitarganj.
In 2020, Zydus Wellness began to sell hand sanitizers and chocolate products

Indian consumers consider fortified foods with incremental nutrients like protein,
fiber, vitamins, calcium and minerals to be an important purchase consideration. In a
survey by Nielsen, when asked what tips the scales in favour of certain packaged foods,
respondents picked the promise of all-natural ingredients, high protein and high fiber
content. The message in this survey for brands is to spell out auxiliary health benefits
rather than merely tagging products as ‘healthy’.
