I, Introduction:

- Helo everyone, i’m My, i’m from the group... including all 5
members Chi, Tâm, Trang, Hằng and I. Today we are going to
talk about family and the generation gap which is common in
most families.
- Shall we come to the first question: What kind of family do you
live in?

II, Types of family:

- Nowadays, there are many different types of family, such as:
single-parent, adoptive, and childless family.
- However, in Viet Nam, most people live in a nuclear or
extended family.

- Most students in the class live with their parents, and some are
under the same roof with their grandparents or uncles and aunts.
- These people have one thing in common: they are old.
- And that’s when we meet the generation gap.

- This table demonstrates the generation gap in music taste
- As can be seen here, most youngsters listen to modern music
(rap, hiphop), while older people prefer Red music or folk
music. They have different music taste. some teenagers dislike
parents’ taste and some parents can’t stand the children’ taste in
music.
● Effects
- The generation gap does not only occurs in music taste, but in
many other aspects as well, such as hairstyles, lifestyles and
political views and it has bad effects on family relationships.
- This gap is the reason for most conflicts and misunderstandings.
- As a result, both parents and children get upset. If conflicts
continue for a long time, they may distance themselves and lose
trust in each other.
- Furthermore, their discomfort may lead to bad performances at
work or at school.

● Solutions:
- Generation gap is harmful family relationships.
- That’s why we have search for some solutions to fix this
promblem.

- In our opinion , we should spend more time with family and

have open communications about what we are thinking. This is
good way to bridge the gap among family members. Each
person should respect the other’s opinions instead of imposing
their thoughts on eachother.
