III. Installation Pre-requisite

In order to ensure MIMO performance, before doing any installation for SC-MIMO
PRO, please perform the following test to guarantee that the existing DAS is optimized:

1. PIM Test
PIM plays a vital role in LTE performance. If PIM is bad, throughput will be affected.
In order to get the maximum throughput expectation, DAS must pass the PIM
requirements. (Note: Suggested system-wide PIM value: -140dBc/ 97dBm. KPI for
PIM may vary depending on operator)

2. VSWR Test
Sweep test must be conducted in order to ensure that DAS have proper
connections.

3. Walk-test
Walk-test must be conducted before doing any installation to examine the existing
performance of the DAS. Important KPI to be considered: RSRP, PCI and SNR.

4. Speed Test
For existing SISO DAS, spot check under antenna must be conducted. This will serve
as the reference and basis for the MIMO performance.

3. DC+IF Filter
DC+IF Filter is a coaxial component that prevent the flow of direct current (DC)
frequencies and filter out the intermediate frequency (IF), while offering minimum
interference to other RF signals.

These will be inserted in the branch of antenna in DAS wherein PRO-S will not be
installed (SISO area). This is to prevent any undesired DC and IF flow in the system and
ensure the proper operation of the solution. Please see Appendix C for the specification.

4. Uneven Splitter
Uneven splitters are to be used instead of directional couplers for the reason that
couplers are not capable of passing through the DC, which is the power source of the
PRO-S. Please see Appendix C for the specification.
