The Landlady

This short story started with our protagonist Billy who traveled from London to Swindon for
work, but there was a last minute change in Swindon and he had to stop in Bath. Billy then
had to find a hotel there to sleep, so he found a bed and breakfast. In that hotel house, she
met Landlady, a woman about 45 years old, apparently kind and gentle, but who was
actually a murderer.

The story ends with the Landlady trying to poison Billy, she wanted to kill him. But in reality,
Billy felt that he knew her and that he had seen her before, but above all he knew from the
beginning that Landlady was a suspicious woman. And precisely because of a question he
asked her, he only confirmed his suspicion. Billy asked her if she lived in London before,
then she got nervous, started sweating and replied nervously with a simple: no.

Billy no longer trusted her and when he suddenly saw that Landlady pulled a knife out from
under the table and then tried to stab him, he reacted instantly, ducked, pulled back, turned
around and fled to the exit door. He fled the Landlady as fast as he could and when he was
about to open the door to go outside, he heard a scream just behind him, a scream he knew
very well, so he stopped running and walked back to the source of that cry. Billy was
hypnotized, and although his head told him not to go, his heart forced him to go after that
voice, he soon realized that would be the biggest mistake of his life.

Billy knew that voice very well, it was his big sister. Then when our protagonist was going up
the stairs of the second floor of the hotel, he felt the real terror, his sister had "died" more
than 4 years ago, she could not be alive. Then he understood everything, the Landlady had
deceived him. Landlady was her sister in disguise, her sister did not die by chance, her sister
killed many people in the past and then ran away, she was still alive. Finally the Landlady led
him to the balcony and together they swooped into the abyss. The last thing Billy heard of
her as they fell into the void was: "Now we’ll be together forever brother".
