CHAPTER 1: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Internship internship program helps in seeking gainful employment and professional
know how which is essential for efficient performance. one of the main aims of this initiative is
enhancement of the employable skills. Therefore this project work has been taken up to fulfill the
following objectives:
 To explore career alternatives prior to graduation
 To integrate the theoretical knowledge with the practical knowledge acquired through Internship
program.
 To assess interest and abilities in the field of study.
 To develop work habits and attitudes necessary for job success.
 Development of communication interpersonal and other critical skills in the future job .
 To build record of work experience and acquire employment contacts leading directly to a full
time job following completion of graduation from the college.
 To acquire additional skills required for the world of work environment.

Joined HERO show Room ,Guntakal for my third internship programme.HERO Show
Room is one of the well known two wheeler automobile dealers in the Guntakal Town.A wide
range of two wheelers are being sold for the last so many years. Well disciplined and hard working
staff in general and the well trained and experienced technicians in particular are always ready to
attend to the services of customers. The management and staff are very dynamic, enterprising, and
ready to serve customers needs in and around Guntakal Town.

It is a wonderful opportunity granted by the management of the organization for the


successful completion of my internship programme. During the period of my internship in the
organization I had the opportunity to learn many practical aspects of sales promotion activities,
marketing and distribution ,communication skills, learning about the job roles, protocols,
procedures, discipline, team work ,time management, customer relationship management, public
relations, various aspects of personal selling, retaining customer loyalty etc. I am greatly indebted
to the management of the organization for supporting me in my endeavors to upgrade and
supplement my theoretical knowledge with various practical aspects during my internship
programme.
CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW OF THE ORGANIZATION

Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing facilities are based on the core principle of sustainable
development, as the Company remains committed to maintaining the highest ecological
standards.
Hero MotoCorp has eight globally benchmarked manufacturing facilities,
including six in India and one each in Colombia and Bangladesh.
In India, the facilities are located at Dharuhera and Gurugram in the northern Indian
state of Haryana; at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh; at Haridwar in the hill state of
Uttarakhand; at Neemrana in the northern state of Rajasthan, and at Halol in the
coastal state of Gujarat in western India. The facility in Colombia is located at Villa
Rica in Cauca province and at Jessore in Bangladesh, situated in the southwestern
region of the country.
It became the only Indian two-wheeler company to set up a manufacturing
base in Latin America when it started operations at its manufacturing facility at
Colombia in 2016.
Hero MotoCorp currently has an annual combined production capacity of around 9
million units of two-wheelers.
The Company’s manufacturing facilities at Neemrana and Halol have been
aptly called the ‘
Garden Factories’, for their various measures, which have redefined green
manufacturing.
The new manufacturing facility of Hero MotoCorp is coming up at Chittoor, in the
southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Hero's first two-wheeled vehicle was a bicycle fitted with a motor called, the "Power Free." Designed to
be inexpensive and simple to build and maintain, the 1952 Power Free had a 36 cc, one horsepower, two-
stroke engine. The new double-sprocket gear system enabled the rider to either pedal with the engine
assisting, pedal without engine assist, or simply disconnect the pedals and run on engine power alone.

By 1954, Hero was producing 6,000 motorcycles per month and his company had officially
changed its name to Hero Motor Co., Ltd. Following the success of his first motorcycles, Hero
created an even more successful automobile: the 1955 Hero Suzulight.

After the war, the Japanese had a great need for affordable, reliable personal transportation. A
number of firms began offering "clip-on" gas-powered engines that could be attached to the typical
bicycle. Hero's first two-wheeled vehicle was a bicycle fitted with a motor called, the "Power Free."
Designed to be inexpensive and simple to build and maintain, the 1952 Power Free had a 36 cc, one
horsepower, two-stroke engine. The new double-sprocket gear system enabled the rider to either pedal
with the engine assisting, pedal without engine assist, or simply disconnect the pedals and run on engine
power alone. The patent office of the new democratic government granted Hero a financial subsidy to
continue research in motorcycle engineering.
CHAPTER 3: INTERNSHIP PART

Internship programme commenced on 01-09-2022 in HERO SHOWROOM AUTOMOBILES,


Guntakal. I reported for the internship with Mr.Vali Basha Manager of the organisation.On the first
day we had detailed discussion on various activities and responsibilities to be taken up during the
working of the organization. He emphasized the need for maintaining discipline, punctuality,
patience, good humanrelations, dedication towards work, work culture and so on. Following tasks
were assigned:

• Familiarization with all the products being marketed by the organization


• Receiving the customers and talking to them courteously and respectfully
• Explaining to the customers about the products and features
• Acquiring the knowledge of various procedures and processes being followed in the organization.
• Maintaining cordial relations with the staff of the organization.
• Taking note of the stock as and when received
• Cooperating and assisting the staff in smooth and efficient completion of the transaction with the
customers.
• Participating actively in sales promotion activities
• Contributing to the customers Relations Management
• Involving various marketing efforts of the organization etc.

Working conditions were good and always encouraging. The manager has taken initiative to
address various issues to see that there is no any convenience what so ever during our internship.
Candidates participating in the internship programme were divided in to two batches for morning
and afternoon business hours. This helped the non local candidates to complete their work in the
morning batch so as to help them to reach their villages in time. Weekly work schedules were also
prepared to facilitate smooth conduct of activities .

During the internship I had the opportunity to learn many practical aspects
pertaining to day today working of the organization. This programmed not only helped me to
supplement the theoretical knowledge with the practical aspects of business but also helped me to
acquire many skills. I worked with the staff in a cordial atmosphere learning many practical aspects
and helped me to develop good human relations and other skills such as Time management,
maintaining good customer relations, work culture, positive attitude, communication skills,
organizing skills, Punctuality ,team work etc.

Objective of the Activity Done: To introduce with the management and the staff of
the Organisation.To know about the nature of products Vision and mission of the
organization, job roles ,protocols,procedures,processes and discipline in the
organization.
Detailed Report:
On the first day of my internship program at Hero showRoom automobiles I introduced myself
with the
Management and the staff of the organization. I observed wide range of products being offered to the

Customers over the last few years. I understood about the establishment of the organization, vision and

mission of the organization ,and the nature of business etc. The manager of the organization enlightened

me about the different job roles to be Performed, important duties and responsibilities while performing

the job. I learnt about the need and importance of following protocols while dealing with the mangement

and staff in general and customers in particular. The success of the organization Undoubtedly depends

on the quality of customer services rendered by the staff of the organization. Retaining customer loyalty

is a very crucial element in Achieving, organizational goals, Very business organization follows certain

important procedures to facilitate smooth and efficient functioning of the organization. These procedures

have to be strictly followed by all the staff with in the organization. Delegation of authority, and

responsibility with accountability is vital efficient functioning. I discussed the concerned authorities

various procedural formalities to be followed during the Day today functioning of the organization.

This helps me to carry on my internship programme smoothly. Another important issue I learnt during

the Ist Week of my work is the discipline in the Organization. Every business organization maintains

some kind of Organizational culture and discipline. Therefore every staff member of the organization are

required to familiarize one self and strictly abide by the discipline within the organization. This helps to

maintain harmonious and cordial relations with the Management and the staff. A well cultivated

discipline followed not only in our daily life but also Within the organization while discharging our

duties and responsibilities is very important.

Objective of the Activity Done: To understand the importance of time management,


social relationships, hands on experience, acquiring competencies etc.,
Detailed Report: Time Management refers to managing time effectively so that the right time is

allocated to the right activity. Effective time management allows individuals to assign specific time slots

to activities as per their importance. Time Management refers to making the best use of time as time is

always limited. High Priority work should come on top followed by those which do not need much of

your. Importance at the moment. Complete pending tasks one by one. Do not begin fresh work unless you

have finished your previous task. So I understood the time value and how and why we should utilize our

time fruitfully. social relationships refer to the connections that exist between people who have recurring

interactions that are perceived by the participants to have personal meaning. Scientists interested in

behavioral medicine often emphasize the informal social than relationships that are important in a person’s

life, or the person’s social network, rather formal relationships. Similarly hands on experience is very

essential for every one aspiring to achieve success in the competitive job market. This is definitely an

Important factor to seek a good job after completion of the course. It introduces one to the real world

situation. It helps us to identify our own strengths and skills, and helps to builds relationships within the

organization. Another r important factor in the organizational success is human resource. Human assets are

one of the most important resources available to an organization. Employee competence and commitment

largely determine the objectives that an organization can set for itself and its success in achieving them.

Therefore, the demand for effective people has continuously increased among public and private

organizations. Competence encompasses knowledge, specific or job kills, abilities, traits, and behavior that

allow an individual to perform a task within a specific function. This helps us to understand the who and why,

the context, make a plan, identify ,weigh pros and cons and learn from experience.

Detailed Report: During the third week of my internship programme I had the opportunity to

discuss with the concerned authorities and closely observe the importance of communication

skills, participatory learning, various aspects of marketing the products, the need for customer

relation management, customers buying behaviors, and. the customer service. Discussion with

customers and the staff helped me a lot in this direction. Communication in the work place is

important because it boosts an employees morale,productivity,performance and satisfaction.

Communication is also important for better team work and cooperation. Ultimately communication helps

to derive better results, for individuals, teams and the organization. Participatory learning helps to

understand new concepts practically rather than mere absorption of Information helps to derive career

satisfaction. I had the opportunity to observe practically many issues Pertaining to the day to day working

of the organization. Similarly group discussion is another important activity held during the work hours

in the organidsation. It helps to bring together a set of people on a common platform to share their ideas

thereby giving an Opportunity not only to exhibit their knowledge but also understand and enhance

their learning by absorbing thoughts of other people. During the internship in the organization I spent

considerable time on understanding many aspects of marketing of products and importance of marketing

to business growth and development. Customer Relations Management (CRM)is another important
subject of our learning during the internship. This is a very important area because the success of an

organization is dependent good customer relations. We also had the opportunity to learn and

understand the importance of the knowledge of customers buying Behaviors. It is important to

assess the kind of products liked by them so as to increase the sales.

Objective of the Activity Done: To understand about the various aspects of sales
promotion, advertising, advertising media, and the importance of public relations in business
growth and development.
Detailed Report: During this week we had opportunity to observe practically and learn many

aspects of sales promotion, advertising, advertising media, consumer promotion and publicity

campaign etc, which are key elements in promoting sales. One major management aspect involved in

product policy is the decision concerning. product mix the product mix is one of the elements in product

policy it is the list of all It is very important for any organization to maintain a good product line as per

the taste and preferences of consumers. In the present day world of globalisation and intense completion

brands are inevitable.Hero showRoom Motors, Guntakal maintains good product line consisting of a range
of
products catering to the needs of different sections of customers. Next issue is the relevance and

importance of sales promotion activities. Sales promotion refers to activities with supplement and

co-ordinate personal selling and Advertising to attract customers to buy a Product. Sales promotion

methods include this place demonstrations and other selling efforts to increase the sales of an

organization. Advertising is a powerful tool directed towards specific target customers in order to carry

the messages regarding a particular product service or ideas meaningfully and persuasively which a view

to achieve certain specific objectives such as to establish brand loyalty expansion of existing markets

increased sales volume etc. there are so many advertising media available presently viz., newspapers

magazines, outdoor advertising, television, internet, cinema etc.All these media is being effectively

utilized by the organization. Public relations is another important area which Public relations is another

important area which is directly related to promoting a compan’s products is directly related to promoting

a compan’s products or services .the main function of publicity is to encourage and developed attitude

and behaviour which will create understanding between an organisation and its public for healthy growth .

It helps to build product awareness, creating interest ,providing information to the customers stimulating

demand. The main responsibility of public relation is to communicate the policies practices, problems

and performances to the public and feedback, public opinion and suggestions to the top management.

Objective of the Activity Done: To understand the importance of personal selling,


process of personal selling, Direct marketing methods, selling to current and lapsed
customers, improving customer loyalty, and the role of online marketing.
Detailed Report: During the 5th week of internship, we happened to learn and observe role of

important elements in sales promotion, such as personal selling, direct marketing the, selling to

current and lapsed customers and online marketing and so on. Personal selling is a broader concept

and involves oral presentation in conversation with one or more prospective buyer for the purpose of

making sales. The purpose of personal selling is to bring the right products into contact with the right

customers and to make certain that ownership transfer takes place. Personal selling is a direct method

of selling the products. Direct marketing is very popular and widely used method of informing people

about product services. It is a form of advertising which allows businesses and nonprofit organizations to

communicate directly to customers through a variety of media including cell phone, text, messaging,

email, website, online advertisements ,database marketing, flyers, catalogue distribution, promotional

letters etc. Pillars of direct marketing are direct mail, telemarketing ,email marketing ,text SMS
marketing,
leaflet marketing, social media marketing, etc.

Online marketing is the marketing of products are services over the internet and utilize together.

creative and Technical aspects of the internet including design development advertising and sales. Online

marketing is used by companies selling goods and services directly to consumers as well as those who

operate on a business to business model . online marketing involves the practice of leveraging web
based
channels to spread a message about a company’s brands, products or de services to its potential

customers. The method and techniques used for online marketing include email, social media, display

advertising, Search Engine Optimization and more. Hero showRoom Automobiles, Guntakal has been

effectively utilizing various sales promotion techniques. It is definitely an interesting and learning

experience during the week.


WEEK-5 (From Dt 04-10-22 to 11-10-22)
CHAPTER 5: OUTCOMES DESCRIPTION
Describe the work environment you have experienced
During the internship in HERO automobiles Guntakal, I had the opportunity to devote considerable time in

interacting with people. I spent explaining about the product features, performance, after sales service,

offers given to the customers on special occasions like Muharram, Dasara, Deepavali Christmas, and so on.

Management took at most care to provide good facilities for the convenience of Staff. Basic amenities like

drinking water, washrooms, fans, tables and chairs and computer system are Available. The management has

taken all the precautions regarding creating awareness among staff to Clearly explain the different job roles

and responsibilities entrusted to the staff members. I learnt about the important protocols and procedures to

be followed while carrying on important tasks by each and every member of the organization.

General discipline was given top priority in the organization all the staff involved in the marketing and

sales promotion activities maintained dress code, punctuality in attendance, customers relations

management, proper recording of the transactions, processing of information etc. Time management is

one of the important issues which was given top priority during the internship right from morning till

evening all the assigned tasks were performed as per schedule. Completing the given tasks on time,

spending time fruitfully are well appreciated.

Every staff member worked with dedication to fulfill organizational objectives. Teamwork, harmonious

relationships with other staff in the organization are commonly observed. Management took at most care

to see that all the staff work with high motivation level, with satisfaction .Good working environment was

prevalent having enough space and ventilation. consequently all these efforts of the management resulted

in overall good performance by all the participants. Managerial staff of the organization extended full
cooperation and in fact a source of continuous inspiration, guidance and encouragement to the staff

for the successful completion of the assigned tasks.


Describe the real time technical skills you have acquired (in terms of the job- related
skills and hands on experience)
Internship helped me to develop technical skills pertaining to the job rolls assigned .The job role that

was assigned to me was concerned with sales promotion and distribution and gaining hands on experience.

Sales promotion activities largely concentrate on communication involving sharing of information and

Concepts by the source and the receiver. This mainly concerned with the products and services, about the

firm,advertising,publicity,direct marketing, personal selling,demonstration,and public relations etc.

Effectiveness of Sales promotion activities depends on efficiency of personnel who are entrusted with

The responsibility. They must be well trained, resourceful and having knowledge and skill. Knowledge of

The product, its uses,features,advantages when compared to the similar products available in the market,

Performance of the product, its durability etc.have to be clearly explained to the customers. I was able to

improve my inter personal skills.

Many aspects of information technology like use of internet,emailing,videocalls,SMS messages, digital

display of information, computerized billing system, cash less transactions, digital payment systems ,use

of Specially designed apps,Computerisation of information, recording of transactions etc. are widely used

in the present day business world. Therefore it was very interesting to closely observe how the technology

is used to facilitate smooth functioning of the organization and preparation of planning, policies ,strategic

decision making on real time basis.

I was able to learn how to record transactions, computerization of day today information, storage ,and

retrieval of information, browsing of internet ,emailing etc.Techniques of various sales promotion

activi ties were also observed closely, the art of convincing people, maintaining protocols, strictly

following the established procedures in the organisation.When I was required to interact with the

customers about the product ,I made it a point to learn about the functioning ,features, and other issues of

the product So that I could clarify the doubts raised by the customers and convince them.
Describe the managerial skills you have acquired

successful performance of Jab rolls and tasks assigned is definitely the result of good planning,

Teamwork work culture ,good behavior, time management ,goal setting and performance analysis

in order to complete the given tasks with efficiency. I used to plan my work taking the cooperation and

help from my teammates .While working as a member of the team, initiative was taken on certain

occasions to guide and help other teammates for timely completion of the given task.

We also participated in group discussions to share our ideas and knowledge, this helped a lot to

bring about qualitative improvement in the performance and our competencies our performance

analysed to identify any deviations from the predetermined standard and initiate suitable corrective

Measures.

Good management skills are vital for any organization to succeed and achieve its goals and objectives.

Management and leadership skills are often used interchangeably as they both involve planning, decision

making ,problem solving,communication,delegation,and time management. Technical skills involve

Skills that give us the ability and knowledge to use a variety of techniques to achieve the objectives.

Conceptual skills are one of the important element of managerial skills. Therefore I had the opportunity

To observe and learn how to see an entire concept, analyse and diagnose a problem.

My subject area of training during the internship program was sales promotion and distribution. A wide

range of sales promotion activities linked with latest technological developments has been

observed. Some of the areas where the use of digital technology has been prominent or as follows;

1). Publicity: digital technology is very widely used in taking information directly to the prospective

customers . 2). SMS messages are used to pass on latest information and updates the customers.3).

WhatsApp call and messages or commonly used to have regular communication with the existing and old

customers.4). Digital payments cashless transactions are encouraged by using QR code, phone pay and

Google payment systems.

4).E mail: public relations, direct marketing through personal selling methods are very widely used

methods to promote sales by sending emails to the customers.

5).After sales service: After sales service and customer satisfaction and customer relations management

Are given top priority. Regular communication is maintained through sending SMS messages, emails

Whatsapp messages and so on.

6).Online feed back system is used by collecting feed back on customer service and satisfaction. This

helps the management to nitiate suitable corrective measures to bring qualitative change in customer

commonly used In the organisation for smooth and efficient functioning of the organization.
