Data storage has become an integral part of our daily lives in the digital age. From the early days
of punch cards and magnetic tape, inventors have made significant advances in the ways of
creating data stores and accessing them.
In the past, data storage was limited by physical storage devices such as floppy disks and hard
drives. However, with the advent of cloud computing, we now have access to cloud-based
storage solutions such as Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive, which allow us to store and
access data remotely.
Internal storage is a form of memory that is installed together with theprocessor. The location of
the internal memory is inside the device so it cannot be seen directly. This type of memory must
exist in every device such as smartphones, computers, and laptops so that the system can run.
Internal memory functions to 'remember' the history (history) of programs or data usedwhile
the device is operating. In addition, internal memory is also useful forstoring the Operating
System (OS) on the device as a memory loan when running applications or software.
External storage is a form of memory in the form of hardware (hardware). Data in external
memory can be stored permanently so that it is not lost when the computer is turned off.
External storage hardware is more diverse, ranging from flash drives, CDs, DVDs, memory cards,
to the latest is cloud computing. Some of the hardware can support read-write operations, but
there is also hardware that can only perform one-time write operations.
