1. Definition of CSR: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the label assigned to the
collective set of activities companies use to ensure that what they do is perceived as
ethical, sustainable and generally having positive impact on their stakeholders and the
communities within which they operate, and minimization of these risks. (Phnom Penh
Post 2012)
2. CSR implementation in Cambodia is not a must. The motivation behind a company’s CSR
program can vary from company to company. Some are seeking recognition or outside
investment. Others are hoping for the soft benefits in investing in staff, the environment,
or the quality of their company.
3. From SMEs to Large Enterprises should do CSR in Cambodia.
For example:

For Large Enterprises

“In 2012, four companies in Cambodia — EZECOM, Manulife Cambodia, Angkor Gold and
Unilever — have demonstrated their commitment to corporate social responsibility this
month by giving support to schools, a hospital and sustainable living.” (Phnom Penh Post)
