The journey towards the corporate life with a goal to learn the practical aspect
of life has just started and how.
My special thanks to Mrs. Amruta Mocherla, for providing me this opportunity

to her for providing me the valuable guidance for getting started towards my
professional life. I strongly believe that her words will surely help me in my

LEARNINGS FROM THE SESSION

CREATING AWARENESS
Creating awareness is a process that one needs to take up in order to
initiate self tranformation and eventually it leads to successful life. It
definetely has a great impact on us in life.
The very basic meaning of creating awareness within self is that
knowing what makes you do the things that you do in everyday life. It
is synchronising with your energy to understand yourself better.
Understanding of what you feel is right for you, what is wrong for
you, understanding of the values you stand by, your personality, your
trauma’s, your high points & low points etc.
Self-awareness is important because it helps us understand ourselves
better which is, what effect we have on ourselves and others. People
who have great awareness of themselves tend be happier and more
successful in life than somebody who is not aware of themselves.

ABOUT IPRIMED
IPrimed is a young company established in the year 2009 by Mr.
Navin Kumar who is also the CEO of the company. IPrimed provides
services to young and freshly graduated students and helps them in
shaping their future in the corporate world. IPrimed identified that
there is a gap between demand and supply of skilled people in the
market. Therefore, their main services are for young minds who are
new for this world. The services can be accessed from anywhere in
the world anytime as all of the content is through games and
interesting videos.

UNDERSTANDING UNLEARNING

Unlearning, as the name suggests means to discard things from your

mind that are no more of use to move forward in life. It means to
discard all of the things the ways that we are taught during our up
bringing, forgetting “this is how it is supposed to be”, instead trying
to ask “why is it like that?”, “why can’t it be like this?”. It helps us in
thinking more, thinking differently which helps in personal as well as
organizational growth. For instance, we always thought classroom
learning was the only way of learning, but since the covid all of us are
now aware that online learning is also practical and has lot of
potential.

CHANGE VS TRANFORMATION

CHANGE
Change is to make the form, nature, content, future, course, of
something different from it is with the involvement of external
forces. Change always takes place when there is some kind of
external pressure.
For instance, a chocolate melts down when it is kept somewhere
where there is presence of heat and when it is kept back in the fridge
or in a cool place it comes back to the former stage. This is called
change, with the help of external factors, which is heat and cold.

TRANSFORMATION
Transformation is much larger, more significant than the simple
change. Complete change of the identity is called a transformation. It
happens from within us. Transformation is much more unpredictable,
and as such, involves significantly higher risk.
For instance, transformation of a chicken from a chicken embryo. The
embryo develops into an egg and eventually into a full-grown
chicken.
GROUPING OR SEATING ARRANGEMENT
Seating arrangement in an office helps in communication with peers
which results in better team work.
Workspace seating is the first step in becoming a professional from a
student. It promotes gender equality & regional diversity.
Following are few more advantages of seating arrangement in an
office space:
 Staying more on track and being more focused on the
task.
 Better peer relationships, which in turn would allow
students to work more closely together and therefore
benefit more from group work.
 Enhance comfort
An Ideal workspace seating should look like the under given picture:
INTERESTING VS SURPRISING
Interesting can be stated as something which can hold your attention,
whereas surprising is more of a thing where you can get astonished
of something.
Since, I am not friends with anyone in my batch currently, I will state
few facts that are interesting and surprising about me.
An interesting fact about me would be that I have lived in different
parts of the country through out my life till now and a surprising fact
would be that even after staying in Delhi for 5 years, I could not see
Lotus temple because I am more of staying at home person.

PROFIT EQUATION
Total Revenue - Total Expenses = Profit
Profit is the total amount by which your revenue exceeds costs
over a given period of time. By calculating profit, the company
can know the proportion of money in relation to revenues that
their business retains after paying for all the expenses.
Companies evaluate their employees with the help of the profit
equation.

Say that an employee works above his or her expectations, it will

make the company more profitable and he or she will have many
monetary and non-monetary rewards for working above the
expectations for the company. On the other hand, an employee
works just equal to expectations from him, he or she will just
retain in the company, will not be given much importance. And
the third kind of employee would be someone working below the
expectation, he or she will be given training, motivation for
working hard. If we as an employee of a company are not
contributing to the company, we are actually on the cost side.

INTERESTING AND IMPORTANT

In very simple words, Interesting is something which holds your
attention and important is something which should hold your
attention.
For instance, when we were kids all we ever cared about was playing,
but our parents used to be a little strict on that because it is not what
we were supposed to invest all our time in. Things which we find
interesting often tend to distract us from our main motive.
Some interesting and important things in my life are as following:
INTERESTING IMPORTANT
Watching YouTube videos Learn professional skills
Scrolling through Instagram Reading books
Talking to my best friend Spending time with my family
Watching cricket Helping my mother in household
chores.
Going out to eat and have fun. Learn something which can help
me grow professionally.

EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS

Efficiency and effectiveness are two very common terms used these
days in management field. Let us look at these two individually.

EFFICIENCY
Efficiency refers to the act of performing activities with minimum
wastage of time and optimum usage of resources, so that the work
done is faster and, in an error, free manner. Efficiency is focused
more on input and output of the task. It is more strategy oriented.
EFFECTIVENESS
Effectiveness is the extent to which someone or something is
successful towards meeting the desired outcome. It is focused more
on the outcome of the task. Effectiveness is not strategy oriented.
An effective employee produces at a high level, while an efficient
employee produces quickly and intelligently. By combining
effectiveness and efficiency, a company produces better products
faster and with fewer resources.
Being efficient as well as effective for the company makes us a good
employee otherwise, we are just cost to the company.
LORD MACUALAY
“Who decided that we should start attending schools?”
“Who decided that we need to go to college in order to become
something?”
“Who decided on us start working to have an income?”
Did we ever try to challenge all these questions? No, we did not.
We have just been following what is told to us, to follow the order, to
follow the way it is supposed to be.
Following the orders in workplace makes the employees less efficient
and effective because they just stop thinking and eventually are
lacking innovation. This can be one of the reasons why India does not
have lot of service companies.
The few reasons of us not asking questions like “why?” and “what?”.
Historical factor of it can be few reasons about the British era. When
Britishers took over our country, they recruited people to work for
them looking for three qualities which can be explained with 3-R.

After that all we did was to follow their instructions, and not ask
“WHY?”.
When we do not ask such questions, our thinking capabilities starts
diminishing, we start to lack innovation, we start to think it is easiest
way of doing a task and hence, we are less efficient and effective for
the organisation.

REFORMULATION VS SUBSTITUTION
REFORMULATION AT WORK PLACE
Say that you have been working for quite a few years now, you have
gained a lot experience also. You have now been promoted to a
senior position, but as soon as you take up the position you start to
feel exhausted, there is a sense of stuckness. It is the time for
reformulation. We all experience change in our working lives and
with change brings uncertainty and anxiety. How we respond to this
depends on our individual relational patterns and ways of coping.
TREASURED RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE
YOUR FAMILY

The relationships we have in our lives play a very vital role in our
growth in our lives.
Workplace relationships are often expected to be more professional
and should not be getting into your personal space. Building and
maintaining relationships at workplace is extremely important for
you to grow as a professional. We should always be careful while
building and ending a relationship at work place. Ending a
relationship should always be on a positive note. You do not have to
like somebody to work with them. That is, it. You do not have to like
your boss to be an employee in the company.
Say that, you have an argument with your boss and due to that you
decide to leave the company. You try getting into another company,
the HR manager happens to be your Ex Boss’ friend. What if he calls
his friend to check your background? Your behaviour as an
employee? Hence, it is very important to break relationships on a
positive note. You get removed from the position, accept it, move-on.
You have an argument with someone in your peers, put your point,
try to understand theirs, end the relationship on a positive note.
Never be in bad books of any of your professional acquaintances it
can cost you and your professional life a lot.

SEVEN POINTS FOR SUCCESS

Following are the seven points for success in your professional life:

1. SHUN CATASTROPHE: Shun catastrophe can be referred to a

situation where someone leaves their job, mostly women because
their spouses earning was more than adequate to run the
household. This should not happen.

2. DEVELOPING AUTONOMY: You should always take your own

responsibilities, and not blame others for any inconvenience that
you feel due to your own fault.

3. FREEING INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: On should never be

biased on opinions on anyone. Should not be building assumptions
about anyone without meeting them or knowing them personally.
Always make your own judgement.
4. NEED FOR ACHIEVEMENT: Always have desires to do better
professionally and in personal life also.

5. SUCCESS ROLE MODELLING: In order to become successful in life,

you need to have a vision and someone you can look up to. It does
not always have to be someone who has a big name but you can
find inspiration around in your family, like your father, mother,
elder brother/sister.

6. PURPOSE: You should always and always have a purpose in life,

without a purpose, there is no point of just existing.

7. INTEGRITY: Always maintain your integrity, it can be termed as

Most of us will say somebody who has got good grades

What it needs to become a good manager?
Interpersonal skills
Public speaking
Managerial skills

lacks at public speaking. Will that person be a good manager? No.
Because to become a manager it is a must that you should know
how to speak in public, it is one of the basic needs in the corporate

chaos in your mind, but how you deal with it makes you a good or
bad manager.

EXCELLENCE AND OWNERSHIP

“EXCELLENCE IS THE QUALITY OF BEING TRULY AT THE BEST AT
SOMETHING”.
A person of excellence is a positive influencer, a sensitive or
empathetic individual and an excellent communicator.
Let us look at the meaning of service excellence, it can be defined as
aligning the quality of services and environment with the excellence
of our organizational plans.
OWNERSHIP
You have to give a task to an employee, there are two employees as:
1- Takes initiatives, Cares about the company, has skills, Takes
responsibility of his actions, Cares about outcomes.
2- Hesitant in taking initiatives, does not mind about the outcome,
Does not mind about company, Cares only about personal
growth, Not driven to work.
Which employee will you assign your task to? Obviously, employee 1,
because of the ownership he possesses. Ownership is being
accountable to the task given, some areas where in they have to
make a choice, going extra mile for the task and maintaining the
professional attitude throughout the task.
