Technology and Learning Styles

I. Introduction

a. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the concept of learning styles grew in

popularity. However, there was some debate about the effectiveness of

learning styles in terms of information retention. The VARK model, developed by

Neil Fleming, is one of the most widely used models of learning styles,

categorizing learners' preferences into four categories.

b. The pneumonic's first letter is "V," which represents visual learners. These students

learn best by seeing rather than reading. Illustrations, charts, diagrams, and

videos benefit these types of students.

c. The letter "R" represents the third learning style, or the readers and writers. They

will be most successful with text or when concepts are expressed in words.

Finally, hands-on approaches benefit kinesthetic or tactile learners.

II. Benefits to determining learning styles

a. Learning styles are defined as "common ways that people learn."

b. Author Kendra Cherry.

III. Technology in the classroom

a. Author Euline Schmid (1553).

IV. Positives of Technology

a. (Schmid 1554).

V. Negatives of Technology

a. "Spoon feeding them through the overuse of these electronic resources,”

VI. The Link between Technology and Learning Styles in the Classroom

a. "Because numerous studies have shown a positive correlation between

student engagement, appropriate academic activities, and high

achievement, differentiating by product often translates to improved

student achievement.

VII. Conclusion

a. It is expected that as technology becomes more prevalent in the world, it

will also become more prevalent in the educational system. It is the

teacher's responsibility to ensure that technology is used wisely so that the

benefits of technology translate to the success of their students.
