Theme: MY FATHER’S BUSINESS HSCF 210

Text: Luke 2:40-49
Introduction:
From the above text, Jesus started at 12 years to talk about His Father’s business. Let it
be very clear to all who claim to be born again, there is father’s business before all who
are born again. Are you born again today, there is labour for you.
At another point, Jesus said, I must work the works of Him (the Father) that sent me, while
it is day, the night cometh when no man can work (1John 9:1-4). Today, we have a number
of questions to answer regarding the business of our Father in Heaven.
1. In these days of terrible condition should we be talking about the business or the work
of our Heavenly father? if yes, why?
2. This business or work, is it for who?
3. Is what is written in Mark 16:15-20 part of the work or the business of the Father in
Heaven? If yes, what percentage of the work that is going on these days? These days of
no cash, no food etc, should we be talking about this business? If yes, how?
4. Let us read the following passages:
(a) Ephesians 4:8-13 (b) Romans 12:1-13 (c) 1Corinthinas 12:1-30
• From the above passages, which gift(s) as a Christian worker can you boast of?
• Many claim to be pastors, are you indeed a pastor in the sight of God?
• Many also claim to be evangelists, what should be the work of an evangelist?
• From the passages above, which aspect of the work or which gift that is under used?
5. In these days of no cash, no time, no means of transport, is it not proper to ask
everybody to remain at home and serve God? Must we gather together? If yes, why? If
no, what are your reasons?
6. In these days of one excuse or the other, what did Jesus tell the man who came telling
Him (Jesus) to excuse him first to bury the father before joining in the work? (see Luke
9:59-62)
7. In the light of the above (No 6) answer given by the Lord Jesus, what do we think will
be Jesus answer in these days of no cash, no time and no means of transport?
8. What did He (Jesus) say regarding the issue of no labourers for the work of the kingdom?
(see Matthew 9:37, 38). Can we adopt the same in these days of total confusion?

NB TO ALL PASTORS: Pastors never you make light of the above questions. Deliberate on
all of them with your workers and come out with solutions.
May the Lord Help us these days…
