REGULATIONS
MADE BY THE MINISTER UNDER SECTION 244 OF THE DEFENCE ACT
AND LAID BEFORE THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

THE DEFENCE (RATES OF PAY AND ALLOWANCES)

(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2012
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Defence (Rates of Pay Citation
and Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 2012.
2. The Defence (Rates of Pay and Allowances) (Amendment) Regulation
Regulations, 1989 are amended by inserting– 20A inserted
L.N. No. 84 of
(a) after regulation 20, the following regulation: 1989
“Duty 20A. A duty allowance at the rate set out in
allowance Part IV of the Schedule shall be paid to officers,
other ranks, midshipman and cadets.”; and
(b) after Part III of the Schedule, the following Part:
“PART IV
DUTY ALLOWANCE
Member Amount Effective Date
Officer, other rank, $1,000.00 01/10/11.”.

3. These Regulations have effect from 1st October, 2011. Commence-
