TYPE FLEXIWALL

Application
Environments with high levels of noise establish sound fields which can considerably affect the
welfare of working personnel. Such areas can be machinery rooms inhabiting gas turbines, hydraulic
power units or for example cementing units, and can be enclosed to improve the noise levels.
Enclosure of a noise source is an effective measure of controlling noise, by handling the sound
source immediately before it is able to radiate freely. The Flexiwall is a screening wall constructed to
minimize the contribution of radiation noise from stationary equipment. The design includes a rigid
steel construction and the use of high density absorption material in order to attain the maximum
sound reduction performance. In order to have access to the machinery behind the screening wall,
the construction consists of panel modules as either sliding folding panel sections or fixed panel
sections depending on the requirements. If necessary, a hinged door system can be integrated and
the Flexiwall can easily be dismantled panel for panel to gain access to machinery.

Materials and dimensions

The material options for the Flexiwall ranges from pregalvanized steel to aluminium and stainless
steel. Each Flexiwall is independently designed for its purpose, and therefore there are no limits on
dimensions and sizes.

Noise data CLOSED

Reduction values of the Flexiwall is dependent on how it is installed and the sound field of the area.
Actual values measured on site varies compared to laboratory measurements, because factors as
flanking noise, vibrations and reflective surfaces contribute to the reduction values. For specific
evaluation and calculations of noise data for the Flexiwall, please contact Acoustics.
