1. What are the possible postpartum complications that might happen to a woman?
- Postpartum Hemorrhage
● Save all perineal pads used during bleeding and weigh them to determine the amount of
blood loss.
● Inspect the perineum twice daily for redness, edema, ecchymosis, and discharge.
● Evaluate for abdominal pain, fever, malaise, tachycardia, and foul-smelling lochia.
● Observe for elevated temperature, chills, tachycardia, headache, pain and tenderness,
firmness, and redness of the breast
● Encourage the mother to Breastfeed frequently

● Use a warm washcloth to apply heat to the involved area several times daily
