Answer cold war is an ideological conflict between two superpowers- USA and USSR are allies after
the second world war. This created a state of war without actual outbreak of war.

Answer

 In spite of fact of fact that League of nations had failed to establish international peace,
leaders of the major countries are aware for the need to have a international organization
 The destruction caused by the second world war was enormous
 The dropping of nuclear bomb on japan and destruction caused by the second made the
world leaders to international organization to prevent from all-destructive third world war.

Therefore after the second world war united nations was established.

Question 3 how did the people of India express opposition against the Simon commission

Answer

 All political parties in India had decided the procceding of the Simin commission
 The arrival of simon commission on 3rd march 1928 was given by anti-Simon procession and
Hartal.
 People shouted the slogan simon go back and displayed black flag wherever the commission
went on the places in India /India

Answer operation vijay was undertaken by government of India in the year 1961 to liberate goa, diu
nad daman.

 The efforts to convince Portuguese government to handover their colonies and leave India
failed.
 Peoples in goa started satyagraha to liberate goa and receive support from people from
different parts of India
 Portuguese rulers tried to supress the procession ruthlessly and committed atrocities on the
imprisoned satyagrahis . As a result situation become explosive.
 The government of India decided to liberate goa, diu and daman in the year 1961

Question 5 what is green revolution

Answer in the post independence period there was acute shortage of food grains and food grains
was imported on a large scale. Government of India had decided to overcome this issue
