1. How the can you promote the Legal and Ethical use of media and information?
2. What are the cause and effects of the said issues above?

I can promote the legal and ethical use of media and information by first looking at the
deeper meaning of it, because we should know that we should be aware of these kinds of
issues as well. As a result, I can begin to promote it to myself and serve as an example for
others to follow in order to promote it as well. As for me, I believe we should ignore or reject
fake news that has been shown or is currently running in any form of media and instead
trust those media sources that we believe are ethical, relevant, and can prevent us from
engaging in illegal activities. If untrustworthy media sources show us some inaccurate
examples, we should not be afraid to complain, because doing so can prevent bad behavior
and also promote it. And as an active user of the media, the good deeds should start with
me and use the media as a backfire, because we don’t know that some may use the media
to promote the illegal use of the said topic, and we should raise awareness on different
kinds of social media where nowadays, youth are always focusing.

We know that sometimes people are not aware in terms of copyright, but also that some
people are aware of it but continuously do and possess copyright infringements. What is
their reason? We can think of it as a form of their selfishness, that they don’t care what their
bad doings will cause, that all they care about is owning a piece or context that they can say
is their own and shamingly say that they have put a lot of sweat into it. We can also view it
as their ignorance. People nowadays are gullible and easily influenced, so the last thing we
can see is that the Copyright Law is great for this kind of topic. Next is plagiarism. Because
students have a tendency to plagiarize because they don’t want to fail and they want high
grades, they think that plagiarizing is their way of making great work and will make them
great students. It also causes students to be suspended and expelled. The worst case
scenario is that you will fail at your chosen course. Cyberbullying is a serious matter where
you are using the media in a bad way or to bully someone using the internet. Some may be
doing it because they are forced to, and some people may be doing it because they are
simply not ashamed of making other people’s lives miserable. Cyberbullying will affect
someone’s mental and physical health.
Computer addiction is bad because it affects people's lifestyles and will lead to poor health.
It may also affect people's ways of thinking and can cause violent actions. Some are
capable of it because it gives them such fun. They might think that it is a way of escaping
their problems, as if life is like a game that is full of happiness. Lastly, I think the reason why
there is a digital divide is because of the transformation and innovation of our technology.
Like in the past, people were content with a life where the internet was not a big deal and
having a simple gadget or cellphone could make their lives better. But now we can
encounter situations like this one where one student is not capable of using gadgets and the
other student is skilled at using computers and the internet, which can cause people to lose
confidence and view this digital divide as a thorn. This can cause people to lose confidence
and see the digital divide as a thorn in their side, as they may believe that everything is
always about being techy and skilled at using computers and the internet.

ASSESSMENT/APPLICATION:
Students (individual) will show/state the negative example of the said issues
and give a remedy or ways to make it legal.

A bad example of copyright infringement is using music or owning music

and putting it in your videos without proper credits to the owner or to the
proper site. We can set it right by putting proper credits to the owner or to
the proper site. We also must make sure that the site where our data
comes from is also an authorized site, so it is not also a product of
infringement.

Putting all the details in your own work that came from other authors' work
is a bad example of plagiarism. I mean, plagiarism itself is a bad thing and
will lead you to a bad situation. And I think the best way to prevent
plagiarism is to STOP the things you are doing when it comes to plagiarism
and start to work hard for yourself, because at the end of the day, your own
effort matters and your finished work that came from your own ideas and
thoughts is worth it and worth appreciating.

Bullying and shaming people will not make you a great person, but rather it
will lead you to the worst situation. An example of this is saying bad words
and making people lose their confidence by throwing hurtful words at them.
This will make them feel like they are not important. We must always be
responsible for our words and actions, and use the internet responsibly as
a safe zone and not a dangerous area to create opportunities to harm
people. It should always start with ourselves.
Computer addiction is defined as staying up all night in front of a
computer or other gadgets like there is no tomorrow and forgetting
to eat, rather than playing or staying up all night in various forms of
media, and the worst case scenario is putting your health at risk.
This behavior should be controlled and they should learn to slow
down. People with computer addictions must find other ways to
keep their interest or find some new hobbies that have a low
potential for addiction.

My situation can be a bad example in terms of the digital divide

because, unlike other students, I’m not capable of using computers
or laptops. That causes me to overthink that my work will be the
lowest. Thinking that teachers nowadays are not considerate even if
you do all your best and always look at well designed work, I feel
bad. But, in my opinion, the best way to deal with it is to surround
yourself with people you know who will not judge you so that they
can build your confidence and to practice good habits so that you
can improve and call yourself a skilled student.
