AN OVERVIEW
St. Xavier's college was founded in 1988 and is a catholic school run by the society of Jesus
(Jesuits). The college offers not only intermediate-level courses (+2 and a-levels), but also
bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of fields including natural science, business, social
science, and humanities. Tribhuvan university offers higher education degree courses. The
university was founded in 1988 in response to a call for intellectually competent and socially
responsible men and women. A unique atmosphere exists at St. Xavier's that contributes to the
quality of education and the formation of character.
This course encourages students to look beyond their careers and to pursue a wider vision of being
channels for improvement. The education program promotes critical thinking, positive action, and
service to others. Students are encouraged to be job creators rather than job seekers, and to play
the role of future creative designers.

“As we begin the new academic year, St. Xavier’s college family pledge to go
green and do our part in repairing the damage done to our mother earth. During
the year, SXC will unfold the theme of the academic year though various
activities. We will facilitate various levels of conversation to bring awareness
among us as well as in general public on the importance of caring for the
mother earth.
As I write this message, I hear an inner voice reminding on how much change I
personally have to bring in my life style and, in the choices, we make as SXC
family. May in this year, we open our eyes and heart to listen to the sentiments
of our common home. Let us join our hands to substantiate a change for a better

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
ADMISSION AT ST. XAVIER’S COLLEGE IS VERY COMPETITIVE.

❖ Students need to pass the entrance test and interview with minimum of first division marks
in plus to science.
❖ Students need to pass the SLC or o level or equivalent to apply for a level program and also
pass entrance and interview.
❖ Students must secure minimum of second division to apply for the bachelor level from
recognized board by TU and KU. Also, students must pass the entrance test.
❖ Students should secure minimum of second division from recognized universities by TU to
apply for masters.
