00.00.00- 00.01.00 Hasif: Winning word…truth finding travel…welcoming you

for this programming I am Hasif in this tense political
situation we are meeting every political personalities. Today
the chief co-ordinator or Naam Thamizhar party Mr. Seeman
is with us. We will talk with him.

Hasif: Sir, Good morning

Seeman: Good morning

Hasif: In this tense political situation there are lot of things to

discuss with, but now the whole Tamilnadu is looking out for
an important by-election, RK Nagar by-election. I begin this
interview with the question, what is the stance of Naam
Thamizhar Party in this by-election?

Seeman: We are contesting in this election. Our permanent

stance is that we contest alone. Not only in this election
even in local body election, parliament election and even if
assembly election come, we will contest.

00.01.00-00.02.00 Seeman: I RK Nagar we have already decided in advance to

contest, and that is why we are contesting here.
Hasif: This election is different from other election, because
as far as Tamilnadu is concerned the two Dravidian parties
were very strong in those days and now after the demise of
Jayalalitha, the AIADMK is split into two and you are already
aware of the incidents in Assembly. This by-election is an
important election after the allegations leveled by the
opposition parties. Your contesting in other elections has
sufficient reasons, it is a different issue, but didn’t the
current situation in Tamilnadu change your stance to contest
alone…if not why?

Seeman: No, this won’t change. Because these two big

Dravidian parties were ruling Tamilnadu alternatively.

00.02.00-00.03.00 Seeman: We present an alternative theory for this. How I see

this is , the miseries and problems we have been
experiencing for past fifty or sixty years, for example
Kachatheevu, Neutrino research, struggle against atomic
reactor, NEET exam, gas extraction in Theni, Hydrocarbon,
Cauveri water management, Mullai Periyaar dam, water
extraction in Thamirabarani River, struggle to fulfil
Athikkadavu Avinashi project…lot of problems. Don’t they
know all these problems? No one has installed atomic
reactor without anyone’s knowledge. Neutrino excavation in
western ghats has not been done without their knowledge.
No one has installed Keil gas pipeline without their
knowledge. Reasons for all problems are these parties ruling.

00.03.00- 00.04.00 Seeman: I am basically a weak simple person. I am fighting to

protect my land, resources, soil and people. But these
people who signed for these projects also join in my fight.
See how funny this is? I am crying for my father’s death, but
even the murderer of my father is also crying with me. See
how terrible this is. Now the general problem is corruption
and bribery. Mismanagement, what to say, objective-less
and irresponsible leadership. They allowed water to be
siphoned off and sold, and education was privatized, so
everything was done only in these parties ruling. Everyone is
talking about getting rid of corruption... but with whom you
will get rid of the corruption? First we have to get rid of
these people and then only we can speak about getting rid of
corruption.

00.04.00- 00.05.00 Seeman:

You will have to contest alone. If you want to put forward an
alternate politics, if you truthfully and honestly, want to
bring a pristine democracy in this land, without famine and
starvation, without bribery and corruption, you will have to
contest alone. We have that compulsion. That’s why we take
this stand.
Interviewer:
Two political parties which took forward or the fundamental
reasons for these problems that you have mentioned.
Seeman:
Four parties.
Interviewer:
Four parties. But only two have ruled the state.
Seeman:
Even if they have ruled the state, take for example the
foreign investment in retail industry, when Congress brings
in the policy, the parties here would stand by them. I oppose
the Food Protection Bill, but the BJP in the centre stands
together and signs that. We are asking for an exemption for
us from NEET exam, but they accept. We oppose the GST
Bill, Wherever the State Government asks what it is entitled
to… The very purpose of demarcating the states on basis of
languages fails, isn’t it. For the benefit of the nation, it is
being snatched little by little. The parties which must take an
opposing stand against this, surrender when it is imposed.
All four parties are responsible for this.

00.05.00-00.06.00 Seeman:
These parties who are supposed to take a stand against it
should capitulate when faced with it and these four parties
should take responsibility for it.
Interviewer:
Definitely. The other two parties that you can mention can
be taken as two national parties, other parties, other small
parties, there are Communists, there are Viduthalai Siruthai,
there are other small parties, why not unite with them and
form a strategy to defeat this common enemy?
Seeman:
If you see it now, i am the boy who was born in the ethnic
death and disappointed all the people, that's how you
should see my organization
There is no other way, so we change ourselves in one way
My ancestors who came before this came and formed
alliances with whatever national and Dravidian parties came
and gave them this, and because they won elections and
enjoyed positions, they don't deserve to criticize these
parties.
Now DMK and ADMK are not worthy to come and talk about
corruption, they in the assembly can't even stay for half an
hour.

00.06.00-00.07.00 Seeman:
DMK doesn’t have the merit to even say that ADMK has
committed corruption. They are not able to be in the
Assembly for even half-an-hour. ‘Cause when they start
talking about corruption, this lady get’s up and says, “do we
not know your cases,” and they have no answer. The same
thing happens when it comes to projects. Say for example,
when they raise the issue of electricity deficit, she says, “do
we not know what you had done?” Again, they have no
answer and they walk out. They do not have the merit to
speak even.
My forefathers have been in coalition with these Dravidian
parties on and off and hence they are not able to say that
they have transformed now, that they have got themselves
purified.
If I go to them and urge them that we could work together,
they look down on me as a newcomer with just the
enthusiasm. “His age is not even my political experience,” is
what they think. Only after we get empowered and come up,
they decide that they can work with these kids, with their
ideologies. These senior parties, the left parties, have been
in action even before the Indian independence.

00.07.00-00.08.00 Seeman:
How can we ask those parties to come and work together
with us? Still I tried and I failed.
Interviewer:
So you spoke to the left parties?
Seeman:
Yeah, I spoke with them for four years. I spoke to
Mahendran, I spoke to Rangarajan, I spoke to Rangarajan.
Interviewer:
Which demand of yours they refused? In which point did
they not agree with you?
Seeman:
When it comes to India, leaving alone Congress and BJP. The
only parties which have alternate policy, alternate economic
policy, alternate education policy, are the left parties. They
stand up putting forth the left ideologies at the national
level. But when it comes to Tamil Nadu, they should project
us, the ones, who give importance to Tamils’ language, arts,
culture, tradition, the life and welfare of the people here.
That’s how we spoke. It didn’t work out.

00.08.00-00.09.00 Seeman:
If you see in this point, why don’t you name it as “Dravidian
leader”?. When speaking, why don’t you say it as “Dravidian
leader”. See in this point. A Fisherman has died. Why do you
mention it as a “Tamil fisherman”?. Why don’t you mention
it as “Dravidian fisherman”? We are Tamil people. You wear
a mask called “India”. We are removing it. You wear a mask
called “Dravidians”. We are removing it. Then you wear it as
a caste. We are removing it. Then you wear it as a religion.
We are removing it. You never let us to be “Tamil”. Do you
understand this? My language is going extinct. Who will take
responsibility for this?
Interviewer:
But?
Seeman:
Who will take responsibility for this? So many problems are
here. This land is in intolerable corruption and bribery. Who
is responsible for this?
Interviewer:
Definitely. These Dravidian parties…
Seeman:
There is nothing like that.
Interviewer:
You say that they don’t use the word “Dravidians” and
instead they use the word “Tamil”. I don’t understand, in
which way these Dravidian parties have made a mistake.

00.09.00-00.10.00 Seeman:
If you see in this point, why don’t you name it as “Dravidian
leader”?. When speaking, why don’t you say it as “Dravidian
leader”. See in this point. A Fisherman has died. Why do you

00.10.00-00.11.00 Interviewer: In case, they put forth the theory that, ‘We are Interviewer and Seeman
Dravidians, we are not Tamils. Dravidam means it includes Interrupts each other
four national races in South India and do politics on the basis occasionally.
of it, then you may oppose Dravidian politics, that is, these
person’s Dravidian politics [Seeman Interferes; on what ,
what basis you… ]. The theory they put forth, Dravida..
Dravida… though has the word Dravidans, they are fighting
for the welfare of Tamil people only?

Seeman: What basis, in the context of ‘for the Tamils’, on

what basis they put forth? Now, in Kaveri problem…

Interviewer: You only said, when they speak, they say ‘the
Tamils’, ‘welfare of Tamils’. [Interruption one .. one] No
place they say ‘welfare of Dravidians’.

Seeman: No bro, a question, why to call Dravida, why should

Tamils be called Dravidians? Who has the answer? Are we
Tamils or not?
Interviewer: Sure!
Seeman: Why do you call us Dravidians?
Interviewer:]What is there in just calling by that name, that
is my question.
Seeman: Why, why do you call so? [Interviewer interrupts:
what is the problem..] is there a Tamil person among leaders
of Dravidian parties… if you take closer look…

[Interviewer interrupts] If DMK or ADMK … for example, for

example …

00.11.00-00.12.00 Seeman: You should look at it precisely

Interviewer: For example, for example, My question, DMK or

ADMK says we are a Dravidian party we put forward
Dravidian ideology. Based on that we are a party that not
only can fight not just for Tamilians but also for 3 or 4 other
South Indian nationalist areas. And based on this idea and all
that happens in Tamilnadu if they proffered a politics
including all these 4 nationalist places, will you oppose
Dravidianism?

Seeman: Though I said so, you should note down the danger
that had happened. No leader of these dravidian parties are
Tamilians. We’ve been watching this..

Interviewer: This isn’t Dravidian problem. Those who led the

Dravidian party are not Tamils, this is the problem isn’t it?
Seeman: They never stand up for Tamilians.

Interviewer: Because they aren’t Tamils.

Seeman: There would be Malayalali, there would be

Kannadiga, there would be Telugu, but all are Dravidian.
Standing under the guise of religion, they don’t let the
nationalist people to benefit their rights. They don’t get it.

Seeman: In the Tamilnadu legislative assembly, almost 48

representatives belong to other language.

00.12.00-00.13.00 Seeman : Just see if there are any other state assembly in
India with this much number of other language persons.
Never.

Interviewer: So, this is because no leader who led Dravidian

parties are Tamils? So there are many people in Tamilnadu
assembly who speak other languages, so this is the problem
of Tamilnadu, isn’t it?

Seeman: No, this is not the problem. Because of this they

won’t stand up for the rights of the sons of this soil. Won’t
stand up whole-heartedly. This is the truth. You can for
example see the Eezham revolution, people died. If they had
sacrificed their power for that people, the people would
again have voted them to power. But for the sake of that
trifle power, they happened to be the spectators of a
genocide. How do you see this? How could you sleep? Our
race has been dying in clusters. We could hear people
weeping with blood stains. How could you sleep. We should
talk about this profoundly. This is a long-time conspiracy.
They have plotted this conspiracy for quite a long time to
wipe out this language.
