“The Power and Love of St.

Michael Archangel of the Divine Mercy”

A few weeks before the entire nation shouts “Viva Pit Señor!” or “Viva Señor Santo Niño!” to

celebrate the Feast of Sto. Niño. The General Animator of Knighthood of St. Michael the

Archangel under the Congregation of St. Michael the Archangel, Rev. Fr. Peter Prusakiewicz,

CSMA will visit St. Michael the Archangel Parish - BGC on the same day. Everyone might be

wondering what is the connection between Knighthood and St. Michael the Archangel Parish -

BGC. Last May 8, 2022, a prayer service was held in St. Michael the Archangel Parish - BGC in

celebration of the Apparition of St. Michael the Archangel in Gargano, Italy. The parish became

a center for prayer services of the Knighthood of St. Michael the Archangel which is directly

connected with the Congregation of St. Michael the Archangel in Italy. Rev. Fr. Peter

Prusakiewicz, CSMA had a schedule to travel in various places to promote and strengthen the

devotion to St. Michael the Archangel. St. Michael the Archangel Parish - BGC is one of the

places that he will visit and considered a location for the investiture of the members of

Knighthood of St. Michael the Archangel.

“The Power and Love of St. Michael Archangel of the Divine Mercy” started at time according to

the schedule connected with the said theme, Knighthood, and devotion to St. Michael. Including

the Seven Weapons: Daily Bible Reading, Daily exorcism prayer to St. Michael the Archangel,

Daily angelic chaplet to St. Michael, Fast each Friday on bread and water (or a good deed if a

fast is impossible), Monthly Reconcilation, Monthly Eucharist Adoration, Nine day Novena to St.

Michael before the feast day on 29th September. It was followed by a Holy Hour that each of the

parishioners fall in line to have a personal veneration with the Blessed Sacrament. Most of them

felt that it was different than usual Holy Hour that the parish commonly do. Rev. Flordelito C.

Dador Jr., parochial vicar of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish - BGC, concelebrated the Holy

Mass after the Holy Hour. Rev. Fr. Flordelito read the Gospel while Rev. Fr. Peter did the
Homily focusing on the theme specifically on Divine Mercy. Rev. Fr. Peter showed the Diary of

St. Faustina in connection with St. Michael the Archangel and Divine Mercy. Right after the

mass has ended, everyone fall in line once again to venerate on the first class relic of St.

Faustina and receive the scapular of St. Michael the Archangel as token of appreciation in

participating for the entire event. Two member of the social communications ministry was

blessed enough to have a privilege to hold the first class relic of St. Faustina for photo

documentation and assisting Rev. Fr. Peter for the event.

The following day, the members of the Knighthood of St. Michael the Archangel Philippine

Chapter with Rev. Fr. Peter Prusakiewicz, CSMA and Rev. Fr. Flordelito C. Dador Jr. had an

investiture at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish - BGC. The parish also formed their own

Knighthood of St. Michael the Archangel that will have investiture after the necessary formations

required.

It was a day full of blessing for a rare opportunity that the parish has received. But it is not

going to be enough if it does not inspire us to be a modern evangelist in preaching His

teachings through the intercession of the parish patron saint, St. Michael the Archangel. It is a

start of the task and it will not be the end. Through the guidance of the Divine Mercy and St.

Faustina who made a strong connection to empower us to be a channel of His love and

reminder.
