Role and Responsibilities:
Storage Provisioning/Reclamation/Extensions From EMC(VMAX, VMAX3, PMAX, ECS &
Netapp C-Mode Storage
Arrays to various Hosts (Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX & VMware).
Creating and assigning the regular and thin devices to servers from EMC &
NetApp Arrays.
Performed zoning for clusters nodes to Storage array FA ports by creating
aliasing, creating zones and adding zones
to active zone set by using Fabric Manager.
Storage integration for new servers (Port Allocation, Zoning, Device allocation).
Adding new luns to existing Cluster Groups shared and standalone.
Troubleshooting Storage, Switch and host related issues.
Managing and maintaining the Cisco and Brocade switch administration.
Troubleshooting critical issues including meeting zoning requirements, host not
seeing storage management
problems.
Performing decommissioning of legacy storage arrays and migrating to new arrays,
implementing the new arrays and
configuring.
Proactively monitoring of Storage Fabrics in a SAN environment.
Exposure on EMC applications for local replication on Symmetrix storage subsystem
such as Time finder
Mirror/Clone/Snapvx.
Strong working knowledge in for remote replication on Symmetrix storage subsystem
SRDF.
Involved in Netapp NAS storage provisioning to both Unix and Windows servers
(NFS/CIFS).
Creating and managing the Volume, Qtree, Quota, Vserver and Aggregates on Netapp
Cluster Mode storage
Attending weekly CAB meeting & Critical incident Call.
Analyzing and resolving escalated problems within SLA.
Providing 24/7 Support and call support to customer.
Opening cases with Vendor for hardware and Software related issues.
Preparing Daily/Weekly/Monthly status reports.
Providing Access to Dc Engineers and Creating a case in NetApp/EMC Support if any
hardware failures Occurs.
Health Checks on all the SAN devices, Storage, allocation, Reclamation,
Decommissioning Implementation of Thin
/Virtual provisioning
Zoning, Switch upgradations.
Replications, Local Cloning, Migrations and DB refresh activities.
Data Center Activities:
FC cabling connectivity for storage arrays and switches,
down-time Activities in Datacenter like Core Switch and Edge Switch Replacement,
Rack Replacements,
Faulty Cable replacements, Faulty SFP Replacements Experience in Patch panel cable
connectivity
New SAN Switch installations and configurations.
